Like I said in that contest, I dunno how to shade.
But I made this cool-looking scratch, and I wanna learn how to shade it.
Help please? :3

I just got back into spriting - Pokémon spriting. So, here's holographic Musharna:

And... this thing... what's it called... Shuppet? I think... It's a glow of it.

A pillow shaded Manectric is on the way. How am I doing?

How the hell is this related to choco chip cookies?

Yerp, dats a Shuppet.

I have no comment on the Mooshoo...

The Shuppet looks cute with that glow. Sure, it won't like the fact that I said its cute, but whatever. (Shuppett thinks ghosts are not cute xD) I really like how you added a pinkish purple glow to it. It also is light, yet darkish enough, for us to tell that there are three/two different shades in the glow. Nice job!

It looks pretty good, and to shade it, you just make a light shade and a dark shade, then just put them on how you think the light would hit the sprite.

I made this revamp of the silver Bulbasaur sprite, please C+C it! This is my first "real" revamp! :)

Actually, I like it. Though there's some wonkyness here and there and some pieces / sections that still need to be altered--or just fixed back up--(not to mention the slight "banding" here and there), you executed the BW style pretty well overall.

Um.

...I enlarged this one Dragon Egg that I reshaded that was about...half the size of this. Then just...yeah, enlarged that one and made this.

I can't find a good enough animator (GIF animator keeps screwing the colors up, ugh) to animate the steps I took in the making of this, but...I still have them, so in case you're curious, here:

Obviously this type of dithering was used to give it the appropriate texture.

Speaking of the right eye, it looks a bit squished and the angle of the iris looks off compared to the other eye. But for a first revamp, it's really good.

I know that's how light works but the line is a bit too wonky and not curved enough in that position to work properly imo. But overall it's a very nice sprite, and I like how you included the progress steps (no one can steal it from you now!... unless they steal the steps too I guess) Cracks look great by the way, but maybe you can add a little hole in the last one because I'm not sure if an egg can crack that much without chipping.
EDIT: Wait what am I talking about its a dragon egg. They're too hardcore to chip.

Thanks, but, um. The highlight is to add more sheen to the egg to make it just a little more appealing to the eye. Also, a rounded shape such as a ball or egg...no, the very bottom corner farthest away from the light is NOT the darkest assuming the object is sitting on a surface; the surface tends to reflect some light onto the bottom of the object that is least-exposed.

Don't worry though; heck, I didn't learn this until three years ago.

Also, think about it: that would actually make less sense. I know you always see a hole open as egg cracking stages, but if you really think on it? It doesn't make perfect sense.

At least, not with steps like how most use them for, like for adaptables.

Generally when the first hole is poked through the egg, as it gets bigger, the entire baby starts to try and poke its head out.

Knowing that I both am too lazy to, like anyone else, and don't wish to spoil it, anyway, I closed the commonly seen loophole by not making any gigantic holes appear. XD

I appreciate your feedback though.

"I know that's how light works" Yeah I know. I like to stare at things in my free time. I was just pointing out it didn't look right to me on the sprite.

"Wait what am I talking about its a dragon egg. They're too hardcore to chip." was my silly attempt to remedy that suggestion. I thought about what happens when I crack an egg before I cook it and I remembered the membrane keeps it together unless I manually make the hole it.

*adoptables :b

No problem, I don't really have much to do nowadays (mountains of work but I like to ignore it) and I haven't done much myself so I like to try and give my opinions on the sprites here, hoping some of it will be useful.

Yeah, I was on my phone so yay: inevitable typo due to the spellchecker. Ugh, I hate my spellcheck; it's a n00b.

A hatchling hatching from an egg obviously is a bit different than cracking an unfertilized egg. Anyway, I was just giving an explanation for it that made a little more sense.

No response? Guess I can't say I'm surprised, because I'm not.

Looks very good. But the wings are rather too similar.

This is really cute. I like how the muzzle isn't too big, and that the wings...THEIR SO TINY compared to some baby dragons I've "seen". I like the eyes, too. It kinna gives off trhat lil' innocent look, imo.

Umm...yeah, it's stylized highly, so that's fully intended.
...Thanks.
