2010 MLB Season
This thread's purpose is to discuss anything baseball related, such as your favorite players, teams, predictions, etc.
I am incredibly happy with how the Twins are doing. The offense is one of the best in the league with the only holes being 2B and 3B so far. If the rotation and bullpen stay strong I think this could be the best Twins team I've ever seen.

Re: 2010 MLB Season
We really needed a MLB thread haha.
Anyways, the Nationals are looking ok this year. We have a bunch of fresh young talent on the team with veteran players like Dunn and Pudge. I'm very impressed with Matt Capp this year as our closer. He is 5/5 in save opportunities so far.

Reds just were swept by the Pirates.

Re: 2010 MLB Season
I just got back from my first game at Target Field, my oh my is it gorgeous. I still love the Metrodome but I am incredibly happy with the new stadium. The Twins won 5-1, Kevin Slowey pitched a great 8 inning game. Joe Mauer was absolutely terrible, but everyone has bad games, even Jimmy Gobble.

Re: 2010 MLB Season
Oo, a baseball thread. (kicks back and watches)
My dad's educated me a little bit on baseball. I know the basics, but I don't know nearly as much as a long-time fan would, like batting averages and the like.
Even though I've lived in Nebraska all my life, my dad was born in Boston, so I grew up being taught that the Red Sox are awesome, and the Yankees are bad! Otherwise, I don't turn on the TV to specifically watch the Sox play. (Nor do I turn on the TV at all, honestly. >>) It's more of a casual thing a suppose. It's still very interesting, though. c:
My dad and I also got to see the Sox win the '07 World Series in Colorado. ;D It was epic.

The Nationals are incredibly inconsistent this year. It's very dissapointing.

Uhh, what?
And the Astros are starting to recoup. Let's see how it goes. Only a little under 150 games to go. XD

Re: 2010 MLB Season
Tigers fan here, though I'm not really a huge baseball fan. We'll probably get like, a 20 game lead in the division and blow it and miss the playoffs like last year.
As long as the Red Sux don't win anything, I'm fine.

Re: 2010 MLB Season
Nationals got a big win over the Dodgers yesterday. Adam Dunn had 2 HR's, pretty spanking.

Re: 2010 MLB Season
I'm very happy that the Twins got a victory after being down 5-1 vs. Kansas City. Unfortunately, it included a lot of lucky Royals drops, Twins bloop singles, and one of the worst umpiring calls I've ever seen to end the game. I'm sorry KC Nation.

Re: 2010 MLB Season
So far this year, I'd say the Giants and Twins are the 2 teams that have impressed me the most this year.

Re: 2010 MLB Season
Francisco Liriano is on fire!!!! 23 straight shutout innings and counting. His ERA is down to 1.03.
The Phillies signed Ryan Howard to a $125,000,000 5-year extension today. I think this was a terrible signing, as sluggers from the past have shown a lot of decline in their early-mid 30s (Mo Vaughn, David Ortiz, Carlos Delgado to an extent), and Howard is 30 right now.
Lastly, I found this amazing college baseball play that happened earlier this week. The baserunner does a frontflip over the catcher at home plate to score a run.
