Pokemon Yellow with only Pikachu
Is this possible? I mean, I have a level 59 right now and just finished off Sabrina for my 5th badge and already toasted Team Rocket, but I want to know if it is possible to finish off the game with only Pikachu. I am predicting an easy level 75 by battling all trainers, but is this high enough. Because all he is is a Pikachu and can't evolve, he isn't as strong as the usual Riachu I always have in red/blue. I have heard of people beating Blue with only Blastiose(yours truly) and other games, and I have Pokemon Stadium and want that surfing Pikachu, but is it necessary?
Current Moveset
Thunder
Thunderbolt
Double Team
Body Slam
Any Ideas?
I have also beat the Japanese Pokemon Green by shear knowledge of the original series.

Re: Pokemon Yellow with only Pikachu
It's easily possible to beat the game with only one Pokemon (especially with a starter). Not sure about Pikachu, but the only one that should give you grief will be Giovanni.
Also get rid of Thunder. It's not as accurate as Thunderbolt, and it's useless having two electric attacks on the one Pikachu (lest one of them be something like Thunderwave).
With that in mind, try to stock some Ether with you.

I'll find another move. And I know that Giovanni is hard to beat but i have double team and if I use that 6 times before a battle they can't hit me and I just flail away with body slam.

Re: Pokemon Yellow with only Pikachu
Also Bruno's Onix will be a toughy. But by that stage, you should be right, no worries.
Actually, by the time Pikachu's around LV75, Seismic Toss wouldn't go astray (for the purposes of in-game fighting) if you can get your hands on it. Because no matter what, it will always do Pikachu's level in damage.
If you didn't pick it up, it's a TM north of Cerulean City on your way to Bill's house.

I think I have it. Never thought of that. But that is an interesting tactic because 75 hp is a good bit of damage

Especially when it's really your only option against a Rock-type.
You can T-Bolt your way through any other Pokemon in the E4 (Dragon, Fire, Water, Ghost, etc.) but Rock, if you only have Body Slam, will severely suck.
If you could get the Surfing Pikachu, it wouldn't be so bad.

Btw, if you need help with getting Pikachu to learn Surf, just refer to my help thread so many months ago. :P

Just wanted to let you know, heh. I don't want it to be hard for other people to get it, since it is actually really simple.

Mewtwo = ownage in Round One (especially Prime Cup). But you're going to have to assemble your own team as well, this isn't going to be a piece of cake. The team will help you in the Poke Cup; I'd just breeze through the other ones with rentals. I used walkthroughs to beat each cup, btw.
Round Two is the real problem, but if you train a great team it should be fine. Just be aware that the game will get haxxx on you sometimes.

Re: Pokemon Yellow with only Pikachu
It is possible to beat others with your Pikachu, as soon as the level is high. And giving your Pikachu some vitamins surely helps.

If I trade my pikachu out of yellow, feed it vitamins, and then trade it back in, will it still follow me? I mean, it has the same OT and OT number, so it should work

Of course. It might be a bit grumpy with you, though.

I am so excited SOOO many people commented on this. I was wondering how much support I would get, and this is overwhelming. I think I can do it and I will update as I get further.

Re: Pokemon Yellow with only Pikachu
UPDATE
Haven't hit a problem yet. Level 65 Pikachu. I took the best pokemon I had from the Red and Blue runthrough as a backup, but haven't touched them except for Lapras to learn surf. Beat Koga and have 6 badges
