Re: 2012
But remember, it's 2012 for everyone. And why 2012? People thought the world was going to end in 2000 (and 1000 A.D for that matter) But we'll just have to see...

Re: 2012
We'll all be dead before 2200, lol.
Anyways, it's all a bunch of rubbish. We would have died thousands of times already if all this was true. 1982 (Jupiter Effect, you can search it up if you want), 1988, 1999 (a whole crapload of different rumours), 2000, 2005 and 2006, 2008 with the LHC, the more popular and recent 2012, 2200, and anything before and after any of those mentioned years. We're still alive aren't we? Apophis seems sexier than compared to all of this, and it's chances are 0.0004%. All it's gonna do is make a small hole in the ocean, (about 300-1050 feet[?]), a barely notice speck from the I.S.S. after a few years if it happens, and it won't even take anyone out unless some ship was unlucky enough to pass by the mark point or a wave caused by it happens to reach some nearby coast. But still, you understand.

Re: 2012
Ah, the old hoodoo continues. Don't let these dimwits build a city of delusion around you. This same person said the world would end during 2008. Honestly, no human knows when time will end. As the Holy Bible says, "Not even the LORD Jesus knows the end of man."
As for the Mayans. Should we listen to the same people that sacrificed themselves for their 'gods'. I think not. Even modern day Mayan officials say that it is not the end of the world. The ancient writing means that there will be a new beginning!
-will you believe in the same people who said Y2K would happen? Hope not, you would just be wasting the life that won't end during 2012!-
P.S: GLOBAL WARMING!
P.P.S: The reason the world would end during 2012 is because Obama would be done screwing it up!

Re: 2012
The whole "end of the world" thing is just a popular western interpretation of 2012. The Mayans didn't believe that at all.
My guess is that the Mayans ended their calendar at that time because it would be a "new age" meaning possibly a new calendar cycle. Much like how the BC became the AC after the birth of Jesus Christ on the Julian calendar.
Also, the Mayan civilization used a different calendar than we do.

Re: 2012
The scientific explanation for 2012 is that the magnetic field which protects the Earth from the sun is flipping. This will supposedly make the Earth's temperature rise for a few days. Another thing is that during this supposed flip another sun (which is billions of light years away) will line up with our sun, doubling the temp. However, the fact is that the sun that lines up would raise the temp of all of about 5 degrees. Plus, the magnetic field shifts all the time. No need to worry people.
The Mayan civilization has nothing to do with the conspiracy...

Snarky much. And I suppose we should be listening to you, the guy who's God had to kill his own son by painful crucifixion in order to forgive the human race for its transgressions then.

Technically, Jesus was a part of himself. He technically killed a part of himself to save us. If you had researched you would have learned that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all the same thing, one divine being in other words. Yah hater...
Do you not listen to scientific facts. In my latest post I had no mention of Christian influences.

I do listen to scientific facts. But the Mayan Calender isn't based on the gods either, it's based on the observations of the movements of stars and planets. It's astronomy, not mythology. Quite simply they only stopped because they ran out of room.
And I'm familiar with the Holy Trinity Titanium, I was mocking you because your statement was made in ignorance. You are completely unfamiliar with the reasoning and understanding behind the ritual sacrifice of the Mayans and therefore are in no place to comment on it.

It wasn't out of ignorance. But I wouldn't trust any religion that kills the millions just for the gods. The calender was based off of astronomy, yes...
P.S: I am tired of arguing with you on all these points (Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Capitalism, Religion, God, Mayans, 2012...). I really want to stop so if you want to I will. If you wanna become friends, why not?

The Crusades killed more than the Mayans ever did.
If you're tired of arguing, then stop flashing your ignorance around as though it were a trophy.

Don't forget the Inquisition and the Witch Trials.
And no, Titanium, I do not want to be friends with you. As Lus said, you make statements in ignorance and when proven wrong you absolutely refuse to acknowledge it, or even change your arguments.

Re: 2012
I can't wait 'till December 22 2012 so I can laugh in everyone's face.
Seriously. They said the world was going to end in 200, and we are still here. They said the same for 2004. And what? We are still here. Everyone really needs to stop that **** about the world ending in 2012 :/

Re: 2012
Supposedly, the Mayan calendar is a lot more accurate than the Gregorian calendar.
