Will Ash be the main character in Generation VI?

As we all know, Ash has been in the anime since the first episode. He vowed to become a Pokemon Master but hasn't become one. With X and Y being a steeping stone in Pokemon, should the anime finally rid itself of Ash?

I hope he does finally leave the anime and pass the torch to a new trainer. Brock and Misty have long since left the series and Team Rocket no longer appears as frequently, so I guess it is time for Ash to leave like them.

An interview with Masamitsu Hidaka states that Ash will never leave the series until he becomes a Pokemon Master. The interview also states that when Ash becomes a Pokemon Master, the series ends. xD Ash and Pikachu will also never age. :P

Very likely Ash won't become much of a Pokémon Master until we reach the likelihood of Generation X.

As always, yes, only he dumps off Iris and Cilan and makes friends with Brock or a new guy, along with another character, which is guaranteed to be the the female character option or a gym leader from either late or early in the game. What did you expect?

Also the guy character option either gets his own movie or makes a cameo in one single episode

Ash and Pikachu have become the posterboys for Pokemon, and I see very little positive gain from changing the mascot.

The original trio bombed in Johto, and Misty was permanently removed from the show because of it. Also Brock was absolutely awful in DP, people should be happy they finally dropped him after he was bad in the last two sagas.

They'll probably have Ash travel with two new companions.

Funny, considering the Johto series was the peak of the show's popularity, and afterwards the show saw a slow but steady decline.
