Default Dragonite Moveset

Dragonite (Physical Sweeper):

Moves:
Meteoric Swarm
Aerial Ace
Thunder Punch
Fire Punch/Focus Punch/Brick Break/Iron Tail/Aqua Tail/Earthquake/

Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Attk; 126 Defence 126SDefece; Rest in Hp
Item: Leftovers/Choice Band

I know, it needs a lot of work.
Help =)

I want to incorporate Diamond/Pearl Moves it learns in here.
Speed and Attack will also be baton passed so Dragon Dance isn't really necessary.

Meteoric Swarm - can be used because of its decent sAttk and its Dragon STAB
Aerial Ace - STAB
Thunder punch - cover bulky waters
Last move - i have no idea, i need help on that
Fire Punch - can give the edge;
Focus Punch - Does Inner Focus prevent flinching on this move?;
Earthquake - powerful move.

So help, and redistribute EVS as suitable

Lightbulb Re: Dragonite Moveset

Dragonite will be very common of adamant nature. It does have a very sweeper skills with Focus Punch too. If I would like to use Focus Punch with it. I would use careful nature: which I do. But for a Phyical Sweeper, I will sugguest this:

Dragonite (?) @ Liechi Berry
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 220 HP / 240 Atk / 16 Def / 16 Spd / 16 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Focus Punch
- Substitute

I really wouldn't do any special sweeping with Dragonite. ... All great, you said Dragon Dance isn't necessary. You say D/P moves? Ok, this is a Choice Band one:

Dragonite (?) @ Choice Band
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 156 HP / 84 Atk / 16 Def / 236 Spd / 16 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Claw/Water Fall
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Stone Edge

Water Fall is for Marawak, you won't be able to out run Dugtrio, it will hit damage.

You want Meteoric Swarm? I will add three phyical moves:

Dragonite (?) @ Leftovers
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 88 HP / 224 Atk / 16 Def / 16 Spd / 148 SAtk / 16 SDef
Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Meteoric Swarm

Now the Feather Rest, this one is pretty different:

Dragonite (?) @ Leftovers
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 152 HP / 4 Atk / 96 Def / 16 Spd / 240 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Feather Rest
- Hidden Power [flying]

Just kick back, and relax with this one, notice it's attack is low, but awsom great speacial defense. Your Opponent will have a tough time battling with this one. well, I'm done for tonight. Tell me if you want something else. Come on, Dragon Dance works very well with Dragonite. Post back if you want in-game movesets from me if you would like.

Holy....

Well for one, I really don't need Dragon Dance. So that frees up a move.

Earthquake - would it be a must for Dragonite - i mean every moveset you gave has it, any particular reason - beside countering Tyranitar, and so on.

I personally loved the focus punch Dragonite, however with D/P - I am rethinking on new strategies, if none work then i'll go back to that.

As for the second moveset, with Dugtrio and Marowak
I have physical wall that can switch in and withstand most of these attacks.

Third movest:
Wouldn't it be better to have Thunder Punch isntead of Fire? - since Waters carry Icebeam, and water pokemon like Milotic will prove very harsh. And Flying things would be covered with this move as well.

Fourth:
I really like the fourth movest, as it takes a defensive approach to Dragonite, which I saw rarely being done.
Dragon Dance switch - Thunder Punch
And Earthquake - Meteoric Swarm
Would it be weird to have that?
I mean Meteoric Swarm is one of those one time moves; use it once and don't use it for the rest of the match; and use it wisely.
Ofcourse then I would be limiting myself to either Thunderpunch/AerialAce/Earthquake - at all times, but thsoe moves do cover a lot of ground.
I don't know just an opinion.

Earthquake would destroy ice types wouldn't it so earthquake would be a must move.

Understood.
It's just Pure Ice Types are rare to be seen in battle, who knows with D/P, things might come lol
