How would one rejoin Pokemon? - Pokemon Forum

So anyway, I've kind of been out of Pokemon for the past [x] amount of years. The last game I remotely remember playing was Diamond and Pearl and I haven't watched the show since like the the first five or so episodes of the Black and White series.
Main reason I've stopped getting the games was because of the lack of a DS and the fact that bigger gaming titles like Dead Space, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, titles like that seem to be more appealing at times than playing Pokemon.

Even with all of these amazing things that are going on, like My Little Pony, School, Life, I would love to get reinstated with the good old days of Pokemon and excreta.

So tell me, what are some good ways into reconnecting with the ever expanding Pokemon fandom?

I think the best way to get back in is to restart your favorite game! Replaying old favorites really sparks up the nostalgia. o:

Well as stated previously, I can't really do much seeing as the lack of a hand held is strong in this one.

If you're going to get a handheld, you may just want to bite the bullet and grab a 3DS. You know, since Gen VI is 3DS only and so on. It also plays DS games so there's that.

But other than that, I'd say restart a game and try to catch up on the show any way possible.

Yeah, as said, you probably want to get a handheld. Maybe get a used GameBoy Advance for cheap, I dunno. >_>

Since the 3DS is relatively cheap and on eBay/Amazon you could probably get a GBA for about $50, the price should be around $190-$200. Maybe a little higher.

But first, I would probably get a 3DS because of how many DS Pokemon games there are and for the release of X & Y.

If you've got no problem with stretched screens and whatnot, then go for the 3DS. It's better in general because you can play games from the current generation and some of the older ones; for GBA and before, I doubt that you would need to pay much more than thirty dollars for an SP. If you are like me and need your pixels to be perfect, DS Lites are sixty if you get 'em used, and you can play both DS and GBA games.

Also, don't judge your Pokémon fandom on the anime. It's kind of lame.
