Do you use your starter?

I almost always use my starter as my main Pokemon.(The only execptions are W2, in which I use my Dream Radar Tornadus, and XD in which I use Mightyena.) I feel a conection to them, and even post-game I usually have them in my party. And when a new game comes out, once I can, I transfer all my old starters into it.

My starter is alwys my strongest Pokemon in any game. I use them whenever I feel the need to pwn somebody.

I used my starter, Aqua(Samurott) in game for most of the battles. I even used him in the PWT until I finally felt like Ev-training some Pokemon. (Made it to the World Leaders with him.)

I'm surprised people actually don't use their starters! I've ALWAYS used my starter. xD My teams never feel complete without one! o:

I don't think I've ever had a game where I DIDN'T use my starter. I'll probably try it for a Nuzlocke run (possibly Crystal) sooner or later, but I usually love them way too much! Doro, my Swampert, is a complete trooper, and will stay with me through the end provided he doesn't faint any time soon :/

I don't really understand why people DON'T use their starter. I feel like it's a necessity at the beginning of the game since you don't get many Pokemon that have type advantages early.

@Meg, the starters arent always at the top of the type ladder. Normally if I can find a stronger pokemon to replace it I will.


For the most part I use mine..it really depends on how much i like how it looks. Im a shallow battler..

I do use my starter a lot.
However, Lucario is my main Pokémon.

I use my starter a lot in the main team. It's not for any real reason, though, It's just convenient; it's already gotten a bit of XP by the time you find an alternative to it, you know? There were a few cases where I did runs without my Starter as part of the main team, though. Those runs were pretty enjoyable.

I used my starter quite a bit in B2, mostly for battles where I was uncertain of the EVs that someone might gain. It goes without saying that my poor Samuroot Prima's stats are a bit of a mess. But I used him up until I got to the seventh Gym. After that, he was benched.
