I have never fell for such rumors. xD Mainly because I've never been able to play through Gen I. xD

(And for the record, it's not because I couldn't do it physically, I just kept getting bored and kept stopping). I prefer new games to old ones. I actually like their stories and graphics. I give up around the cave near Cerulean. The graphics are terrible, so I can never get through. xD

Ice Path was a bit easier for me. Wasn't pitch black. Mt. Silver was easier too. Gen I was targeted for older people imo. They kept targeting younger and younger until now it's targeted for kids.

NO MATTER HOW KIDDY IT GETS I'LL BE PLAYING POKEMON IN MY DEATH BED! D<

There are no such rumors anymore because all the info is discovered early by h4x0rs and posted to the internet, back then, there was no internet, so you couldn't just go check id its legit on bulbapedia.
