Pokemon Battle Tournament

Autumn is coming to an end and winter will be coming to Celestia very soon! Are you ready for bleak skies and snow? Let's get fired up with a Pokemon tournament!


Rules
This time we have two tiers - beginners and intermediate. You may join either one or both if you wish! You may join regardless of your current location in Celestia.

The tournament will start on December 2nd so sign up ASAP!

Beginners Rank
2 Pokemon will participate in each battle
Double battle format
No evolved Pokemon may participate
Pokemon may not be at a level greater than 25
Pokemon may be switched out between battles
No OHKO moves allowed
No moves that only up the user's evasion allowed (eg. Double Team)
Only one of your opponent's Pokemon may be sleeping at a time

Intermediate Rank
4 Pokemon will participate in each battle
Single battle format
Evolved Pokemon may participate
Pokemon may not be at a level greater than 25
Pokemon may be switched out between battles
No OHKO moves allowed
No moves that only up the user's evasion allowed (eg. Double Team)
Only one of your opponent's Pokemon may be sleeping at a time

Prizes
At the end of the tournament, everyone who participated in at least one battle will receive a prize.
Depending on the number of participants, Pokemon, TMs or items will be awarded to winners and runners up.
Stars are awarded for each battle, as normal.

OK, this is probably a VERY stupid question, but how many battles do we do? Just one? The standard Five? More? Or do we work this out between ourselves and the opponent we are facing?
