Description
The Nova Outpost is a small village with basic, but comfortable huts where Trainers can rest before venturing into the Nightfall Labyrinth. Researches often stay at the Nova Outpost to observe nearby Pokemon. Aside from the huts, a small lab is set up. Trainers can get information on the Pokemon found in Nightfall Labyrinth, as well as those that reside in the nearby swamp.

After four days worth of travelling, my team and I had finally made it to the Nova Outpost. The place was not what I was expecting - the village was rather small and consisted of only a few basic settlements. Hopefully one of the nearby huts was available to rent - it'd be nice to rest in a proper bed before setting off for Aurora City.

I had sorted out a room and that night I had a relaxing sleep. The rental hut had a 'no Pokemon outside of their Poke Ball' policy so Pleasant wandered off into the woods for the night - Arceus knows what he got up to. When asked, he merely replied "nothing much" and it was left at that.

All rested up and ready for Aurora, we made our way out of the outpost when I noticed a man dressed up in a red jacket - a Pokemon Ranger. I had heard some of these people could teach HMs to Pokemon - this one could teach Defog.

"Hey," I said as I approached the man. "Can you teach my Ducklett Defog?"

Entered Nova Outpost from Route 6.

[Typhlosion Explosion]

Danny

"Ducklett eh? Alright, I'll teach it Defog."

After a few hours, Danny returns. Ducklett is smiling.

Your Ducklett can now use Defog!

I've no idea how he did it, but by the time Danny returned with Queen Bee he was fully able to use the move, apparently. I'd have to wait until I was in a foggy area to test it out.

"Thanks a bunch!" I said to the ranger whilst shaking his hand. "I'm off now, perhaps I'll see you again when I pass through this area?"

"Quack quack!" Ducklett appeared to agree.

As we walked away Pleasant piped up to give one of his snide comments once more. "Pfft, you haven't even proved it has worked yet. I bet that was some freaky experiment to place trackers on your Ducklett, and then one day that ranger is going to track you down and kill you."

"Just be quiet."

Hopefully Danny was out of earshot.

You enter the outpost, expecting there to be a variety of other trainers discussing their journeys, laughing by campfires, and letting their Pokemon play about. But there is nobody here. There is a dead silence. You sense that you are unable to leave this outpost.

You notice something glowing in the bushes nearby...what will you do?

You walk over to check out what could be glowing in the nearby foliage. As you reach around, your fingers stumble across a smooth surface. You grab down on the object and retrieve what appears to be an obsidian stone.

As you hold it up in the moonlight, you notice it starting to pulsate, like something organic. It almost feels like a heartbeat.

All of the sudden, you feel very weak. By contrast, the rock's beating grows ever more intense. You clutch your head, too dizzy to stand. As you fall to your knees, you drop the strange artifact. Everything goes black...

Tiny has been knocked out! Tiny cannot make another post until further notice...



Nova Outpost grows silent and lifeless...

Your Pidgeotto flies back to you and lands on your shoulders. "Pidg! Pidgoooo!" he cries. Has he found something?

You follow him around the camp area, which seems to be deserted. Finally you spot a young man in a green uniform. He's almost camouflaged against the forest.

When he spots you, he walks over. "Hi, were you looking for me? I'm Danny, a Pokemon Ranger. I also teach the move Defog to Pokemon. If you'd like your Pokemon to learn it, simply show me that you have at least one badge. I can train your Pidgeotto here to use it," he smiles.

Danny takes the badge and looks it over. "Hmm... I'm sorry to say, this badge doesn't look real. Did you REALLY win it from a Gym?" he frowns.

"Ha! Just kidding. This is fine." He hands you back the badge and laughs. "Come on, Pidgeotto, we have some work to do!"

He takes your Pidgeotto deeper into the forest. You sit down and wait for what seems like a long time... eventually he comes back out with Pidgeotto on his shoulders. "All done! Your Pidgeotto is a fast learner. It now knows HM Defog. You should also take this with you, that way you can teach Defog to your other Pokemon."


Pidgeotto learned Defog. Tiny received HM08 Defog.
