Default Hidden Evolution Method?

Well, i'm playing the original red Version, and my Pikachu just tried to evolve at level 35 (without a Thunderstone.)

Is there some wierd evlution method i missed, or is it a glitch of some sort?

Wow, weird. Googled it and apparently it's happened to other people before. Growlithe's hexadecimal code is the same as a Thunderstone, did you happen to have a Growlithe in your party or were you battling one?

Wow. I never knew that a Pokemon could have the same code as an item. /Mindblow I thought it might've been a glitch. Or Pixlexia. Either or.

My Growlithe was in 6th slot. I googled it and apparently it's gotta be in 2nd slot?

I dunno, it's wierd lol.

I read both that it has to be in the 2nd slot or in the 6th slot or even battling a wild Growlithe xD Was it in the slot next to Pikachu by any chance?

It is weird. Apparently there are other Pokemon with the same codes as Leaf Stone, Water Stone etc. as well. I wanna test this out now!

* Fire Stone = HEX 20 = Special 32 = MissingNo. (no other MissingNo will work, only the HEX 20 version)
* Thunder Stone = HEX 21 = Special 33 = Growlithe
* Water Stone = HEX 22 = Special 34 = Onix
* Leaf Stone = HEX 2F = Special 47 = Psyduck
* Moon Stone = HEX 0A = Special 10 = Exeggutor

2nd or 6th slot hmm?

That means Growlithe tried to evolve my Pikachu....

But now the question is.... Why at level 35?

I've had Growlithe in my party since it was level 25-30 =/

Who knows. XD

The most likely reason is you had Growlithe and Pikachu in specific places in your party which enabled the evolution!
