ROUTE 7
Requirements: None.
Travel time: 48 hours.

Description
A bayside route linking Route 5 and Aurora City. Route 7 is sandy with cool breezes often coming off the bay. It is a popular picnic spot due to the nice conditions and the view of Dawn Bay and Sunrise Island. Fishing is allowed but Surfing and swimming in Dawn Bay are strictly forbidden as it is too dangerous among the boats that frequent the bay.

"Ahh, Route 7!" I cried. We'd finally arrived. "Cyndaquil, be careful. There are lots of water types here!"

"Noted. Now let's hustle!" Cyndaquil cried.

We run towards the watery edges of Route 7. I grab out my Old Rod and set to fish out a Pokemon.

Leaving Route 5 and Entering Route 7.

"So, you didn't wanna catch it?" Cyndaquil asked.

"Nah. I'll only catch stuff I really like."

"Oh, alright." Cyndaquil shrugged.

"Let's look for more land-dwelling Pokemon!"

"Well, that Finneon was the most eventful thing yet.." I groaned.

Cyndaquil frowned. "Sadly, yes."

"Oh well." Murkrow chimed in. "Wanna try the rod again slick?" He joked.

"Nah. Old Rods wouldn't don't catch much. I hear there are Azurill, Ducklett, and Elekid on these routes. Might as well try to find one of those." I said.

"Well," Cyndaquil groaned. "Might as well get going. I'm famished. What's to eat?"

"Wow, it is lunch time already. C'mon out everyone!" I chucked the Pokeballs in the air.

"Skip Skip!"

"Woof woof!"

"Arrrrroooon!"

"Flaaff..."

"Here Flaaffy, take this medicine. We'll be in Aurora soon." I pet her.

"Flaaff..." She drank the medicine.

"Now, here's all of your Pokemon food!" I shouted. They all came dashing. "Eat up! Now, what's for me...?" I rummage through my bag. I find one can of soup. "Well, better get the fire started..." I take the flint and gather sticks. In almost no time, the fire is lit. I take a pot out of my bag and put it over the fire. I then pour the soup in and wait for it to cook.

"You're eating soup AGAIN?" Cyndaquil asked.

"I don't have much else until I can get to Aurora." I whined.

"Here; have some of my Pokemon food." He graciously offered.

I smiled. "Thanks Cyndaquil, but I don't really eat Pokemon food...but it was a very nice thought!" I praised him. "Thank you." I hugged him. "You're the best Pokemon a man could ever have." I smiled.

Cyndaquil blushed. "I love you Corey." He said meaningfully. "If it wasn't for you," he teared. "I'd still be lonely and depressed. But you," He sobbed. "You're he best thing that ever happened to me." He began to cry. I held him to my chest. He cried into my shirt.

"Aw..." I teared up too. "Th-thank you Cyndaquil. You're the best thing to ever happen to me too." I kissed his head and hugged him hard. We both wiped the tears from our eyes. "Now," I began. "Go finish eating. You can bring your food and we'll eat. Together." He smiled and ran to get his food.

I smell a new friendship in the making.

"Well," I began. "Three hours to go until we get back on path."

"Ugh, too looooong." Murkrow whined. "Can't we try a short cut?"

"You mean, go and get eaten by the Gyarados? No thanks, you can go on your own." Cyndaquil said.

"Guys guys, three hours isn't. Better than getting eaten." I laughed.

"But I'm tireeeeeeeeeeeeed." Murkrow whined.

"YOU'RE NOT EVEN WALKING. I'M CARRYING YOU." I shouted.

"Being lazy gets tiring..." he started. "First you gotta worry about which position is most comfy, and when you shift I have to and it's just so haaaard..." he complained.

"How about you fly beside me or get down and walk then? You're gaining weight." I put him down. "Now walk it off buddy."

"Ugh, fine. I can't wait until we get to Aurora. Then I can evolve and have a lot of stamina." He carried on.

"Hey, I never asked you two, but do you guys want to evolve?" I question.

"Duh. I just said I did." Murkrow laughed. Cyndaquil looked uneasy.

"Volcano?" I asked.

"Hmm...not sure yet. Becoming a Quilava would be awesome, but change..." He looked down.

"Well, it's your choice." I added. "You don't have to evolve if you don't want to."

"Do you want me to evolve?" He looked at me.

"Personally, I love you as you are, and I'll love you just the same if you evolve. It really doesn't matter to me." I smiled.

"Hmm...thanks Corey! I'll have my mind made up after we beat the Aurora City Gym Leader. Promise." I grinned.

"Sounds like a plan!" I laughed.

Corey and Cyndaquil were busy making promises when something smacked Corey in the head. Corey looks down and noticed a small pink pearl. He goes to pick it up, but its owner snatches it off the ground before he can get to it. The creature put the pearl onto its head and gets in a fighting stance.

A wild Spoink appeared! Write a paragraph to catch/fight/run away from it!

"Oh? Do tell." I looked at him.

"Okay," he began. "I'll tell you..." He tried not to smile. "I'll tell you after we beat Aurora." He chuckled.

I entered the route silently and glumly. The nice aesthetics of the beaches or the prospect of new Pokemon to catch (which was pointless anyway as I didn't have any Poke Balls) did little to cheer up my mood. Mortull and Pleasant trailed me as silent as I, perhaps desperate to understand what was going on.

Entered Route 7 from Route 5.
