Currently: Catching up with Sarah.

I ANGRILY move back to Route 1. The storm seems to pass.

"Hey, is that Sarah?! It is you! Hey Sarah, how are you!"

Sarah is in conversation with Gary.

"So do you have anything other than two grass Pokemon?"

Gary responds smugly.

"And you...What Pokemon do you have? Weak ones? Probably."

Gary says.

"I'll have you know I'm strong, even though I just started out! Here's Volcano, and here's Meowth! Show him your strength!"
Volcano growls, and Meowth scratches the ground toughly.

"That all you got?! Seems you both are weak then, ha ha ha."

Gary says, laughing it up.

"H-how rude! Twice in two days I've had my Pokemon insulted, well, no more! Meowth, Scratch!"

Meowth runs towards Gary, but he sends out a Pidgeot.

"Hm. Pidgeot, take care of this little noob."

Pidgeot hits Meowth forcefully, and knocks her on the ground.

"Purra!"

I run to Purra's aid, and pick her up, Volcano growling furiously on my shoulder.

Currently: About to enter Route 2

"It's finally time for us to go to Route 2! Let's go!" Minako squeals. Minako starts running, with Marley running right beside her and Ama-chan on Minako's shoulders.

Minako, Ama-chan, and Marley are heading towards Route 2.

"Don't listen to that jerk, our Pokemon are great! Right Volcano?"

"So, I see you caught a Sunkern. Cute! I caught a Meowth! But that Gary kid hurt her, as you saw. I'm letting her rest in her PokeBall. The nerve of some people..." Corey growled at the thought of that jerk. "Anyways, how's Aster?"

"Volcano, use Tackle, then Flame Wheel!"

Volcano, started to glow for some reason...Fire enveloped his body. He stomped on the ground and burst out in flames attack Rattata. Was this a new move?!

"That's Flame Charge!!" Sarah cried.

"A new move! Awesome Volcano! You learned Flame Charge!" Volcano suddenly became faster as well. Now Ember! Volcano glowed again. He spout out flames, but they were large, and much more hotter. The Rattata fled.

"W-was that Flamethrower?! Two new moves in one day?! Great job Volcano!"

Corey was skipping along Route 1 when his Cyndaquil noticed something shiny on the ground. Volcano picked up the strange shiny object with its mouth and handed it to Corey.

You enter Route 1 with flair. If those bright orange clothes don't scare off all the wild Pokemon in a 50 mile radius, nothing will!

It seems that some strange Pokemon may like your fluoro attire, because just as you think nothing good is gonna happen in the next five minutes, a small grey ball rolls down the nearby rocky outcrop and lands with a crash at your feet.

Lucky you're too cool to fall over, because that same grey ball unrolls into the form of a Phanpy, who looks you up and down as if judging your sense of fashion and deciding whether brobat will be a worthy opponent. You congratulate yourself on finding the rarest Pokemon on route 1, not to mention, one with style. Better yet, you have a chance to catch it! It won't be easy though, this little guy looks tough!

Wild Phanpy appeared! Write a paragraph to catch it!

"Good to see you again Corey!" Sarah smiled. "Aster's doing great, thanks! And this is the Sunkern I just caught. I'm still trying to figure out a name for her..."

"Kern sunkern!"

"Bulba, saur!"

The Pokemon greet Corey and Volcano.

"I don't know what that guy's problem was, but Volcano looks super strong to me! You guys have already come a long way." Sarah said. "Too bad your friends got so far ahead. It can be kind of peaceful travelling alone with your Pokemon though, you know? I have a feeling it'll be easier not to scare away wild Pokemon too!"

A group of wild Bellossom appear from out of the bushes, dancing happily towards seemingly silent music. They point to the both of you, appearing to ask for you and your Pokemon to join them.

Asking you to dance with them. Cannot be captured.

this is it. your first wild Pokemon encounter. you take a moment to regard this regal rascal.

this Phanpy's a tough little ball of gray. looks like the type of dude who's here to get stuff done. but wait, just wait for one second. check out those little markings on its trunk and ears. those shiny orange markings. not only does this lil scrapper have his head in the game, but he's going to stand out while laying down the hurt.

your shades continue scanning all around and tell you that Phanpy is the least commonly encountered Pokemon in this area. destiny.............................is CALLING.

you realize you're not for sure what Brobat's even bringing to the table here. with a few swift eye movements your sick shades tell you all that you need to know.

cool. now you just need to-

while you were busy gathering data, Phanpy curled into a ball and rolled right into a tree, but an angle so that it could bounce off the tree and fly right up into Brobat. way to override your disadvantage, Phanpy!
but no friend of yours is going down without a fight. bouncing off of trees can only get your opponent so far.

> Brobat: Fly higher up and fire off a Supersonic!

your companion in cool does exactly as you advise, gaining elevation and screeching at such a high pitch that you can hear nothing. Phanpy however, falters, clutching its large ears with its stubby paws. since he got you when your guard was down, you figure you'll return the favor.

> Brobat: Swoop down and hit Phanpy with a Wing Attack!

Phanpy rolls off a few feet after making contact with Brobat's wings at high velocity. indignant, Phanpy gets up quickly but drunkenly. in his confused state, he dashes at high speed into another tree. the ground shudders, but other than that, nothing really-

POP!

a variety of berries fall from the tree's branches, some of which pelt your Zubat. a particularly heavy one knocks him out of the air. Phanpy turns, still with a bit of fight in him. but you know something that can change that.

> Brobat: Quick, Leech Life!

he quickly surges forward and drains some of Phanpy's energy, then retreats once more into the air, being careful not to float too close to another tree's berry-drop zone. even still, Phanpy tries to stand, but falters. you retrieve one of the empty Poke Balls you received at the lab.

WHOOSH!

the ball hits Phanpy and seems to absorb it. all that there is left to do is wait.
