Default Tacky names?

As much as I really enjoyed playing through Pokemon Black, is it just me or were the names a little less creative and a lot more tacky this generation? What's your thoughts?

I never found the names to be bad, but now that you mention it, I've renamed more Pokemon in this generation than I ever have in the past...coincidence? I don't know. But I do know that Scrafty is a horrible name for such a pimpin' Pokemon.

Exactly. I renamed so many because the names just did not suit. Plus some of them annoyed me like:
Pidgey and Spearow. Spearow is like sparrow but the pokemon or design is nothing alike. Pidgey I don't even know what thats like but Pidgeot is like a cockatoo and pidgey isnt. Taillow and swallow were true to their real life alike ness but Pidove just annoys me they should not turn a almost pigeon into a pheasant. Pidgey and Pidove should both have been pidgeons but i mean at least pidgey has a creative name!

Then why are you yapping about Pidgey, Pidgeot & Spearow?

Not sure if trolling or not.

Some of the names just don't flow nicely, I agree. Lillipup, Tepig, Watchog, Yamask, Confagrigus and Amoonguss are some of the names I don't like much.

Some other names are just too close to English for my liking.
Roggenrolla, Timburr, Gurdurr, Conkeldurr, Throh, Sawk, Vanillish, Foongus, Klink, Klang, Klinklang, Fraxure, Bisharp

I don't necessarily think it's only a Unova thing though. Many earlier names aren't much better. I still think the worst name is Lickilicky. LICKILICKY! It's an embarrassment!

I think they are a bit tacky but i think they just have trouble coming up with american-ized names.

If you think Lickylicky was tacky you probably didn't get the pun in Foongus and Amoongus. It was referring to an old movie line [it think], that went something like: There's fungus among us.

Puns + Pokemon Names = Tacky to me
