EV Wings not working?!

I have collected about 50 of each wing so I could boost my Pokemon's stats. However, it is saying they aren't effective. I know my Pokemon's EVs aren't maxed, otherwise I would have the ribbon from the Opelucid City woman. My Pokemon are level 100 though, if that makes a difference.

What is wrong here? XD

did you say your pokemon are at level 100 ? are there different wings for different types of evs ? I really havent done this in awhile . If there are maybe you have already maxed that one stat out.

Yep, level 100. Yeah, there are different wings per stat. I tried all of the wings, so apparently all the stats are maxed. XD

Check with the ribbon lady again. To be honest, I believe the games were changed to allow stats to change from EVs even at level 100 starting in...Geh...Diamond/Pearl?

If they aren't working and for some reason they are not maxed, you might have to go the manual way. Here is a guide on EVs.

There's no limit to the wings unlike vitamins (each item can only be used 10 times on a Pokemon - 100 EVs in that stat).

Also, you can only have 510 EVs, and stats can only have 255 EVs (although as the guide explains, 252 is the effective true max for effects. Every 4 EVs = +1 increase in the stat). So you can't "max out" every stat :)

I checked with her, she just said to keep making an effort or something... I think they just changed it in B/W. O:

*hates manual way* Ugh, it takes forever, and it's already taken me a month of playing to get 60 of each vitamin by the subway. @.@ Also, you can use each vitamin 10 times except for one, which you can use once.

It's weird that it doesn't work. Hmm... Google doesn't help either. XD

The best advice i could give is get your hands on these berries

Pomeg Berry – Lowers a Pokémon's HP by 10 EVs.
Kelpsy Berry – Lowers a Pokémon's Attack by 10 EVs.
Qualot Berry – Lowers a Pokémon's Defense by 10 EVs.
Hondew Berry – Lowers a Pokémon's Special Attack by 10 EVs.
Grepa Berry – Lowers a Pokémon's Special Defense by 10 EVs.
Tamato Berry – Lowers a Pokémon's Speed by 10 EVs.

Use those to take back evs from stats that dont need it. Chances are you picked up extra evs on the way. These will help you get back on track.

Depends on EVs. You can't make them higher if the others are already maxed out. You wind up with a Wobbuffet on drugs, and all heck breaks lose. Seriously. It makes Arceus cry.

I miss the Counter App from D/P/Pl. Made counting EVs easier. If you get the "power" items or the Macho Brace and fight the right ones, it's easier as well :)

I'm just going to lower all the Evs with berries to 0 and then use the wings until they are maxed if that works... :P

just lower the ones you dont need. no point in wasting the berries.

It worked! I maxed out some of the better stats with some EVs in about every stat.

I had to reduce them with the berries, I reduced the ones I didn't need, like Attack for Jolteon or something. Then it let me add in more EVs, which became really useful. My Pokemon's attack and special attack are high for Pokemon who specialize in those moves, but their defenses are low, so it'll basically be a hit and run for the majority of my main team.
