Alice asks if either would like to battle. Zack of course to occasions.

The three of them stop in the middle of the forest to have the battle. The sun is at its highest point in the sky hanging directly over head. It has been hours since Alice left home, she was encouraged to start her journey by a friend. He is a couple of hours ahead of her.

since this is your first battle you get to see both. normally you should use the second one. Also if you decide to use your pokemon like in the second example it faints. You would gain the most amount of points from that. you would come out with 11 after. the other way involves you paying the 5 out of your pocket and charmander avoids fainting, you would end up with 6 points for that.
