Default any problem refer to pokemons using "he" or "she" instead "it"?

I would talk about Tauros... He's got a high Attack!

And what about Meganium? She's a good grass type Pokemon!

Electrode is ungender. It looks like a Poké Ball, some kind of Pokemon accidentally produced in lab.

I generally look at the gender symbol -.- If it is undefined (like on T.V), I generally go by what it looks like. Roserade, for example, looks like a female. A Pokemon like Geodude, I instinctively think is a guy.

I go by the gender symbol also, and if the gender isn't specified, I refer the Pokemon by its name or just "it".

I still think He or She is better to use, like they are real pokemon around us!

I always call Pokemon 'it'. Probably because Pokemon had no genders before GSC so I've always seen them as basically genderless. xD Calling them he or she sounds strange to me.

Sort of weird for you to think of Meganium as "she" when 7/8ths of them are male. Tauros is always male so I guess that makes sense.

I tend to use "he" as the neutral pronoun a lot of the time without thinking about it. Referring to any genderless thing as "he" just doesn't feel as wrong as referring to them all as "she" since I guess I feel like one of those old guys in movies who refer to the boat as a "she" over and over. "It" or "He" unless the Pokemon is 100% female or it is a specific Pokemon and not the species, which is known to be specifically male or female. I.e. My female shiny rattata. I caught her on the hack of soul silver I'm working on. She has Hustle and is Serious.

Electrode, he's a pretty cool guy. (even though he's genderless)

Since I started playing before genders existed, I picked up the habit of labeling everything by looks. i.e. ALL Vulpix, Ninetales, Eevee, Flareon, and Vaporeon are female whereas ALL Blastoise, Charizard, Jolteon, Sandslash, Snorlax, and Golbat are male. It just sorta stuck with me. I find myself doing it today. Oh well...

I usually just go by "it" until a gender is identified. Don't want to assume either way.

If I have a Pokemon that is classified as male, I call him a he. Same with female. And gender neutral Pokemon are it, most of the time, if i think a gender Neutral Pokemon looks male or female, i will refer to it as such.

I generally refer to the poke as him, just because I am a guy, and that is my default gender when referring to something that could be either gender

I typically use its appearance as a baseline. Female-looking Pokemon are shes, male-looking Pokemon are hes. I don't usually use "it" even when referring to, say, Metagross. I find 'dem pronouns more endearing than an 'it". Although it does weird me out when I get a male Gardevoir.

I usually just go by the appearance and if they look like a female to me, I refer to them as he/she. Like members said earlier in the thread, geodude/tauros,etc. look like male Pokemon to me.

I go by appearance which has kinda made me form stereotypes of certain Pokemon. Examples would include Gardevoir which I almost always assume it's female. I hate it when I get a Pokemon and it looks one gender but is the other cause I end up using the wrong pronoun lol

I tend to use "it." Whenever I actually talk about Pokemon, it's more like "oh, it's a good/bad Pokemon." Couldn't care less about their gender, really. :(

I call my Pokémon he/she, most of the time. But when it's an enemy Pokémon, I refer to them as "it." xD
