My trick with dA is to hide my signature in the picture and to upload a shrunken version of whatever I'm putting up. That way, when you file a report against the thief, you can use the higher res/original version as proof, along with any .PSDs or whatever that you may have (dunno if you can send those). That's only if you find them, though. Leave a watermark too with your page on it if you wanna be extra safe.

Since this is basically a discussion thread:

Do you prefer to make digital artwork or traditional artwork?
I prefer digital, because I love coloring on my tablet, and graphics are quick to make. Sprites are easy, too. Traditional is great, too, I just don't color as often with pencils anymore. ^..^;

So, what do you guys like?

I feel a bit mixed on the subject. I do adore digital mediums, even though I don't have access to things like tablets (which on the most part, really do improve graphic art). In fact, using digital art mediums helped me develop color sense and placement. Some of the most beautiful, eye-catching things have been made using digital sense.

Yet, I just don't think anything can compare to traditional art. The colors may be more lackluster and the lines not as perfect, but there's just something more endearing about traditional mediums. When one looks at a painting or drawing, I suppose they feel more of an attachment to it, because yes, there's a person behind that image and you can see the minute errors a person would make with their hands, the same hands you have (and that makes it more relate-able in a way).

On the other hand, a computer is way better for people that can't draw a straight line freehand to save their life. I have a tablet but I find myself only using it about half the time because I'm just so godawful at making smooth lines. Photoshop's pen tool is a way to get around that. It's less expensive as there's only a one-time investment in the programs you're using (that is, if you're actually buying them) as compared to needing a steady supply of paint/pencils/paper/whatevs, and just all around easier thanks to the flexibility of software vs real life.

In the end I'd say it goes down to how and where you are viewing a certain piece of art. If you want it on a wall somewhere, then a painting will obviously be better than a printing of a digital painting, even if it's done with the highest-quality printer you can find. But if you want to view it on a screen, a scanned piece of artwork just doesn't compare to one that was made digitally from the beginning.

Its harder to teach graphic arts than it is to teach spriting.
Or I would suppose.

But I would like for there to be one as well.
I want to be taught smudging. :D

I taught my friend to draw an anime face (my way) within a few days.

I suppose it would be easier to teach drawn than graphic, especially since you would be right there with your friend. It would harder to do everything over the computer for drawn because you would either have to scan your art constantly or video it.

Graphic you could somehow stream it to the other person, or would be easier to make tutorials or give direction.

I also prefer digital. It's much easier to make art digitally, and it's fun, too. x3

What you wanna do you move the images on your flash drive to your pictures folder. Then go to any image uploading site (imgur is my favorite, but there's also photobucket and imageshack) and select your picture. Then click upload, it should give you a few codes. Choose the code that has has formatting like: [*img]url[/img]
without the *, though.
