Electivire, standing on the your boat, growled at the Frillish that could be seen floating near the water. The part Ghost looked pretty ready to fight, and so Electivire took it as an open invitation. Electivire huddled up for a bit, charging a blue electrical energy. Without warning, Electivire jumped into the air, sending off multiple beams of electricity from its body. The beams all connected with their target, Frillish suffering at the super effective damage took hold.

Frillish was having none of this, however. Frillish began to wildly splash around in the sea, seemingly absorbing water through its pores as it was doing so. Frillish's frame seemed to expand with the intake of water, growing larger with eveyr second. Once it couldn't hold anymore, Frillish let loose a massive torrent of water from its mouth, soaking the entire deck of the boat and sending Electivire flying across said deck. The damage was still slightly less than that of Electivire's strike, and it was then that Frillish realized how screwed it really was.

Electivire narrowed his eyes at the little jellyfish, who was swimming around like the little freaking mermaid or some garbage. Electivire would have none of it. He rubbed his wires together, gathering up power, and then pointed the tips of both wires out of the boat and right at Frillish. Frillish shrieked in pain as the electricity wracked her body once more.

Frillish was ready for her comeuppance. She began blowing several large bubbles, filling the water with little spherical air pockets. After there was a sufficient amount of bubbles, she slammed her front fins together. The shockwave sent the bubbles right out of the water. Electivire bellowed in surprise, staggering backward, as the bubbles popped against his face, stinging madly. However, the pain w

Foxamivalth decided that it was time to reel in his catch. The Ranger offered him a Pokeball as was required; Foxamivalth held it in his hand to avoid losing it in the ocean. Frillish was consumed by the red beam; in the palm of Foxamivalth's hand, the Pokeball wobbled a couple of times before letting out a ping.

Electivire knows this play, and overused as Fox has been making it he knows it works. He rubs his wires together, building up electricity, and then points them at the Gorebyss who has swum up to challenge them. The wires crackle blue, and then unleash a pulse of electrical energy. It encompasses Gorebyss, sending pain arcing down her body and causing her to tremble, though she puts on a brave face. Her eyes narrow, and she begins moving the water around her by her own natural affinities. Condensed loops, barely visible in the water but evident in the places they poke above the waves, begin forming around her, forming three circles around her rotating in a gyroscopic manner. They glow a rather lovely shade of sapphire for a moment, and then vanish, to return periodically and restore health to Gorebyss.

Fox has had some good luck with this already, and so he hopes he will again. He pulls out a Poke Ball and extends it, keeping a firm hold so as not to lose it to the ocean. He presses the button on the front, and a stream of red light shoots out and encompasses Gorebyss, who is sucked in. The ball begins shaking back and forth, but almost immediately explodes back open, destroying the ball and releasing Gorebyss easily. She smacks him once across the face with her tail and drops back into the water, poking her head back up to the surface. She looks at Electivire, and hatches an evil idea in her mind. She slinks through the water smoothly, setting Electivire’s interest as to what she’s doing, and then winks slyly. A single pink heart flies out, faster than Electivire can react, and it hits him square in the face. A blush spreads across his cheeks, and he finds himself lowering his own internal energy for a reason he can’t quite understand. His attacks from here on, at least the special attacks, will be severely weakened as a result.

Electivire shakes himself off, and focuses on a more non-lethal, but still highly effective attack. His cables spark with a light blue electrical energy, which arcs between them to form a sort of net. The cables draw back, and then sling forward, launching a webbing into the water at Gorebyss. It maintains its structured shape despite the water, and wraps around Gorebyss, sinking into her skin and influencing her nervous system, causing her to squirm from the tingling running down her sides. She attempts to summon up the energy for a counter-attack, but her literally frazzled nerves refuse to cooperate, and instead of the motions necessary for her attack she simply flails around in the water.

Electivire snickers, and gathers up more energy, this time across his entire body. It focuses into his arm, which he draws back, and then casts forward, striking down into the water. It cuts through like butter and hits Gorebyss head on, causing her to shriek in pain. The attack lasts for a few seconds, and when it ends, it looks almost like Gorebyss is floating dead in the water. You stare, puzzled, as you know that that attack couldn’t have finished her, when she stirs. It seems she was actually focusing herself in an attempt to control her own body, and it seems to have worked. She swims, remarkably fast given her condition, in a circle around a limited space, drawing water into a condensed, spinning ball. Suddenly, without warning, the ball blasts out of the water and hits Electivire in the chest. It carries him upwards with the force of it, and epands rapidly, encompassing him and dragging him around flying whirlpool. Electivire is flung around rapidly, and then tossed back into the boat, with such force that it actually leaves a hole in the deck (fortunately it’s a rather large boat, and the hull is untouched.

While Electivire struggles to pull himself out of the hole he’s made, you grab another Pokeball from the Ranger’s open satchel, and point it at Gorebyss, entrapping her once again. The ball shakes dangerously, but this time lasts much longer, and finally dings to indicate that Gorebyss has been captured.

For the record, that was a lucky shot.

After a short stop at an ocean pit-stop to change out the boat, you set out again, this time remaining close to the shore. This turns out to pay off.
