Re: GYM LEADER Applications
I would drop the arena aspect - I think the Pokémon are fine, personally. Get a new arena, then we'll talk, k?

Alright so I can change the arena. It was just a weird idea.

The arena doesn't seem to fit well with your idea (as said already).
Also some of your pokemon don't seem to fit either.
Primape - What does a monkey have to do with a farm?
Blaziken - I understand it's previous evolutions were chicken like, but it really isn't a farm animal anymore, and doesn't contribute to anything on a farm anyway.
Ampharos - Same as above. It's evolutions could contribute wool and be farm animals. But now, it doesn't prove to much use of a farm.
These all would be pokemon that would befriended the farmer and become his friends, and not really fit into a farm theme.
I don't know if I'm over thinking the pokemon some, but I just think that it needs some tweaking, either of the theme or of everything other an that.
Those are my very cluttered and confusing thoughts on the matter. xD
|
Ampharos i can understand how you see it but Blaziken clearly has physical chicken characteristics and Primeape is a also part pig since he is classified as a "Pig Monkey".
Sorry Paperfairy, I didn't see you post. It was on the next page. Ill do that though.

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
I thought this might be a little less controversial.
Gym Title:The Mortal Kombat Gym
Description of Gym Theme: Here we specialize in fighting type strength! Brute force is all that is needed to win a battle! A straight up fist fight is the best way to go!
6 Pokémon planned for Gym Theme: Conkeldurr, Blaziken, Lucario, Primeape, Machamp, Mienshao (Open to ideas)
--BATTLE RULES--
Single/Double/Triple? Single
How many Pokémon per side?4
Are there Damage Caps or other Restrictions?40 damage caps, no ohko moves like sheer cold and fissure, 1 chill per pokemon, no items.
What is the Gym Arena?
In a boxing arena surrounded by characters from the Nintendo world. The crowd has paid good money to come see this fight. We can't disappoint them. Upon using a move that is super effective or a critcal hit, the crowd begins to cheer. This encourages the Pokemon being cheered for and causes the next action to give a +2 ATK and SPATK. So long as the moves continue to be super effective or critical, the following action will recieve the boost. If a move ends in a miss or anything else not resulting in a super effective or critical, then the boost goes back to normal(excluding any boosts made by the user). Also, the crowd becomes angry and begins to throw things at the combatant. Things can range from coke cans, beer bottles, Mario's fireball or what ever the ref so chooses. A damage roll of 1-5 will need to be determined.
What are, if any, the requirements to challenge your Gym? Challenger must come with atleast one Fighting Type Pokemon. Duel types are fine.
In addition, please provide links to all battles you have participated in, past or present.

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
It is true that this idea is less controversial but, it is not very creative.
"- Creativity: Your Gym theme should be creative and unique."
Your old gym was much more creative, and I like that idea better.
Though I have no problem with your new gym I think it would cool to stay with the creative idea.
You have a good chance of being swept clean in this gym too.
Aside from less creativity, I see no problem with your gym.
So, it really relies on what the other say~

Oh I don't mind going back to the old gym. I can make a different arena for it if everyone likes that idea better. Like I said before, I just thought of this one to be less controversial.

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
Well, with the farm Gym, it'd be a matter of opinion for what Pokemon is acceptable, where with every other Gym Pokemon that can be used is clear-cut. Like my Gym or Nate's, the usable Pokemon are obvious, but wit your Gym it's if the Approver person sees a connection. Personally, I don't see a connection between Primeape and a Farm, but you do.
I also dislike the Fighting-theme Gym because it's bland - lacks creativity (as Dino said). And before anyone says anything, this is also my issue with Nate's Gym, but since he's a very skilled battler and always has something up his sleeve, battles there will be interesting no matter what.
So, in short, I dislike both, but if I had to choose I'd pick the latter one.

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
If you would like, I'll make a list of farm pokemon, everyone can add their input.
or
We could give him the Rough-Terrain as a potential roster (thought that is quite large.)

If eishiba wants this to be his theme, he'll have to come up with a list that we agree upon.
Also, rather than having Pokemon that are used on a farm, how about 'Pokemon that you'll often see on a farm'? It's just adding Pokemon like Murkrow and Ratata to your list, but. c:

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
I would like to modify my gym area some. Changes are in bold.
Quote:
The gym is a large room with its floor covered in black tiles that are about 2 square feet. The walls and ceiling are covered with tiles the same size as the floor's, but are grey, and they let off a dull light like a computer screen. The gym leader is the purple team and the challenger is the green team. Every time a pokemon steps on a tile, it glows it's teams color until it leaves the space when it turn back to black. But if a pokemon from the opposite team steps on that tile, it can cause something to happen to that pokemon. The room also is not stabilized. By some odd magnetization the cube-room floats freely inside of the building it is contained. So that means, if a pokemon slammed against the left side, or if to much weight is put on the left side, the whole room will start to tip to the left; the room could potentially roll all the way over. In this same way the room could roll or even flip however it wanted, if a trainer so happened to want their pokemon to flip the room.
Command: Sometime along the lines of this. It has to make sense though. A Jumpluff won't be flipping the room using it's weight.
A pokemon must be 50 lbs. heavier than it's opponent in order to flip the stadium. This can be overridden in any way if some creativity, that is logicical (like a certain attack), is used.
Quote:
|
Aggron, jump up into the air, then land hard to try and flip the arena upside down to mess up his aim, then attack with earthquake.
|
Room Flip ~ Earthquake
Math: At the end of every round a number is rolled for the pokemon on both sides.
Rounds 1-7: 20% Chance of stepping on a "lighted" tile.
Rounds 8-12: 35% Chance of stepping on a "lighted" tile.
Rounds 13+ : 50% Chance of stepping on a "lighted" tile.
If they do step on a tile roll out of 100 to find.
1-30: The pokemon suffers from the effects of fog for the next round.
31-70: The pokemon receives poison damage for this round only. (-3 HP)
71-85: The pokemon is given an electric shock. (Electric, 40 BP, Special | Acts like a Thundershock from a pokemon with 3 SpAtk except with no Criticals, no Paralysis, and it always hits.)
86-95: Flash is used at the beginning of the next round. (effects both pokemon)
95-100: The pokemon is healed by 10% Health.

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
What's the point of the room flip? You realize doing that would just cause both battlers to fall, yes? Also, what are the stats of the arena giving the electric bolt?

Aggron vs. Pikachu
Aggron slams into the left wall, which cause the box to roll left. Because he knows what coming, he can safely find a way to stay standing (by sliding down the wall). But because Pikachu didn't expect it, it would fall, possibly messing up it's attack, depending on how the ref takes it or...
Tentacruel vs. Torchic
Tentacruel use Surf, then flip the room upside down to have the water hit torchic again, and cause the field to be filled with water.
Surf + Room Flip
So it is really just something that can be really creative if thought through that I though of.
As for your second question, I'm not quite sure what your wanting.
"71-85: The pokemon is given an electric shock. (Electric, 40 BP, Special)"
That is already in the gym description~
