What to do with my Scolipede? - Pokemon Forum

Hey there everyone!

I have a little question about my Scolipede, I bred one with a Jolly nature which I heard was a great nature for that pokemon.

But: I'm not really into the EV's and the IV's

, and now I'm a little confused about her stats:
LV. 55
Jolly nature, capable of taking hits.
ability: swarm
stats:
Attack: 122
Defense: 136
sp. Atk: 69
sp. Def: 100
Speed: 171

Well, I'm actually worried about the defense being higher than the attack

.
I already fed it a lot of vitamins and wings, but this is how it turned out.
It had PKRUS and is cured from it now.

Can somebody please tell me what to do?
Should I keep this one and continue training it?
Will its stats be OK at lv 100?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to know what your Scolipede's IVs are without knowing exactly how many EVs were put into every stat.

Capable of taking hits means that Defense is the highest one, though.

Well, I was already afraid of that...
Only thing I can say about it is: I fed it vitamins (till it had no effect), I boosted speed and attack with muscle and swift wings ( 20 of each if I'm not mistaking). and while leveling it up I battled the following Pokémon: Pawniard, Garbodor and Liepard.

This might not be helpful at all, but I'm still learing about the EV's and IV's, do I do not know much about them.

the real question is: can I still raise and train it to be a decent Scolipede?

Well, those Pokemon all give attack or speed EVs so that part should be fine.

For casual use, it'll probably be okay. If you did succeed in maxing attack EVs, even if it has a 0 for an attack IV, the lowest attack it can have at level 100 is 248. Chances are it'll be slightly higher. The lowest speed it could possibly have if you maxed speed EVs is 324.

Since there's no real benchmark for what is "decent" or not it's up to you if that's acceptable to you or not.

IVs can contribute up to 31 points to a stat at level 100, but EVs can contribute up to 63, more than twice as much, so if you're only going to focus on one, you definitely went the right way with making sure you fight things with the right EVs given.

Edit: If you want to check that you got the right EVs on it, you can have someone do a level 100 wifi battle with you and see what the stats are when you check them. That will show you what it would look like at level 100 with exactly the EVs it has now.

I believe I can help.

Dependant on your Scolipede's Attack IV, it has anywhere between 8-136 Attack EVs.

Your Scolipede definitely has somewhere between 120-123 Defense EVs.

Your Scolipede's Speed IV is anywhere between 15 and 31. Dependant on this EV, it can have anywhere between 192-252 Speed EVs.

It's Special Attack EVs depend on its IV, it may not have any at all. Based on the above info I assume it has 0 EVs and an IV of 7 or 8.

It's Special Defense has some EV investment, with the above information it is likely it has a Special Defense IV of 20 and has 60 EVs in that stat.

So it here is its potential IV spread (you haven't provided HP, so assume Attack is the first value):

0-31/31/7-8/20/15-31

And its potential EV spread:

8-136 ATK / 120-123 DEF / 0 SPA / 60 SPD / 192-252 SPE

It may be a little messed up, but I don't know the HP currently so I cannot know for sure.

This Scolipede could turn out pretty good, it'll certainly be able to take hits and dish them back out.
