Depending on the Ref, battles can either take a long time or less than a week. The ASB is definitely not for impatience.
One time, a 13 Round Battle took 6+ months O_O
And an 8 Round natch took less than 24 hours.
It all depends on the circumcisionstances. *ahem*

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
I never really looked into the ASB but once after I joined and a bit before. I found it as quite hard to understand and with a lack of, ah, simpleness. Also, I heard it has banks, and well, how I do hate taxes and banks.
I tried to sign up once I had well over 1000 posts, but it was quite inactive and dead...bah. Im probably going to try and sign up once I see it up, and once I look through it and get insparation to fix up banks on my own RPG (If I may,) for I have no idea what banks are like and no, I am not going to a bank or anythin in the next months.

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
My main problem with ASB is simply the lack of judges. I've been in one battle and after moves were listed, the judge never continued the battle: he just left. We put in a request for a new judge after the 5 day limit we set beforehand, and nothing happened for a VERY LONG TIME (and still counting the days, weeks and months since with no response by any ref). If the judges in ASB were more dedicated as they are in URPG, I'd be a lot more active in ASB, because of the greater flexibility the battle system there. It has plenty of potential, but if no one wants to run battles beginning to end for competitors, then why bother?

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
Because it disappeared right as I wanted to get interested in it. Q.Q
I went to go look at what it was and how it worked when Announcement: ASB is gone and being worked on. Will be back sometime soon. xD
I'll definitely check it out when it comes back though.

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
Forum RPGs are always slow. This is pretty much to be expected. Especially with a premise as "anime-style battling". Chat rooms solve this problem very quickly.

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
Well, the only battle I did went so freaking slow. Like a round a month. Then the ref got fired for not reffing, so...

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
Thanks for the feedback, everybody. ASB will have its "opening" on the 6th, as planned, and I hope you all come to observe the changes. We worked really hard on it for you guys! =]

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
Don't judge me on this, since I've only played for a few days and it just kind of died down.
From what I've noticed, besides the general slow movement of the RPG, it also becomes a little frustrating to see people get Pokemon so easily. It feels to me like the ASB becomes a game that has no difficulty, or challenge.

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
URPG was a bit more simple to me than the ASB. That, and I already really like just being in the URPG and that's it, so yeah.
Of course, I've felt tempted to go read up more on it here and there, but if I ever do join, it will be a long while until then. ^^;

Re: Why don't you play ASB?
It is not the type of what I like! Seems complicated to me! While I don't know much know this thing too much yet!
