Re: Alternate History - Pokemon
Meowth proves to be uncooperative with Ash, the reason why Professor Oak was hesitant to hand him over to a new trainer. In frustration, Ash attempts to capture a Pidgey by throwing a rock at it, but misses and hits a Spearow instead.
The Spearow attacks Ash, but Meowth comes to his rescue and claws the bird, knocking it unconscious (without attracting the attention of a Spearow flock). Ash successfully captures the Spearow with a Pokeball and continues on his journey, though Meowth remains uncooperative.
On their way to Viridian City, they encounter a girl, named Misty, fishing. Feeling confident, he challenge her to a Pokemon battle. Realizing that Ash is a new trainer, Misty accepts the challenge and starts of easy by sending out Goldeen against his Spearow. She handily defeats his weakened Pokemon (he just captured it and they are near a body of water). Meowth does nothing.
Ash, worried about his Spearow, asks Misty for help. She tells him to take it to a Pokemon Center and that there is one nearby in Viridian. Seeing the boy's worried face, she offers to walk with him to the center, assuring him that it should be find inside its Pokeball.
The two, proceeding on foot (though Misty walks her bicycle besides her), manage to reach Viridian City by the late evening the next day (taking a brief break due to the rainfall). Unfortunately, upon entering the Pokemon Center lobby, they find it under emergency lock-down thanks to an assault by Pokemon thieves.
As they wonder aloud what is going on, two humans emerge from the back room carrying sacks over their shoulders. Behind them, Misty and Ash notice an unconscious nurse. The humans appear to have three Pokemon out: Ekans, Koffing, and Pikachu. Instantly Misty realizes these are the Pokemon thieves.
Misty commands them to release their stolen Pokemon, but the two humans laugh and introduce themselves as Jesse and James. The talking Pikachu is, of course, named Pikachu. Seeing no other choice, Misty tells Ash to send out his Meowth while she summons Staryu. She mutters to herself that water Pokemon are weak to Electric types.
And she is proven correct as Meowth fails to obey Ash while Pikachu utterly destroys Staryu. Sensing victory, Team Rocket grabs Meowth, saying it would be a wonderful present for their boss. Ash, enraged, charges Team Rocket, instantly earning himself a powerful shock from Pikachu. However, despite overwhelming pain, he pushes forward and tackles Team Rocket, freeing Meowth before falling unconscious.
Moved by his trainer's actions, Meowth strikes Team Rocket's Pokemon surprising them. Similarly, Misty sends out Starmie and this "Round 2" of the battle ends with Team Rocket's loss. Knowing they're beaten, they quickly rush to their Pikachu balloon and lift off before Officer Jenny arrives. Though they escape, they swear vengeance on Ash, Misty, and Meowth.
Though she has a bike, Misty decides to continue traveling with Ash and they set forth towards Pewter City after healing Spearow.
After returning to Pallet Town from the Orange Islands, he discovers that Brock has returned from Professor Ivy and wishes to resume journeying with him. Tracy decides not to remain with Professor Oak and the four (Ash, Misty, Brock, and Tracy) continue onwards.
