Read parts of it. I couldn't stand the way Meyer writes. The way Bella was portrayed in the beginning is absolutely nothing like how she is in the series either. The choice of words were weird too, now that I think about it.

I read the first chapter of the first book and put it down. Since then I have seen excerpts from the other books and I gotta say, I'm not impressed. I don't care if the vampires are sparkly or not - that's Mayer's imagination and her book. I do care about the writing though and I dislike her style. Few people can do first person well :(

1.> Real vampires don't 'sparkle' in sunlight. They usually either become very weak (in some fictional works) or they burn into ashes and die (as with the majority of fictional works).

Kinda wanna try reading them. Movies weren't a bad evening's entertainment, and after watching other book-based movies right after reading them I realized just how lacking a movie can get compared to the book. I mean, I don't have much to do lolling around waiting for job interviews, might as well try. English isn't my first language, so hopefully I won't be bothered by the supposedly bad language ^^
