Default Re: PE2K Team Garage (Where teams are made)

Hi, I'm in need of some help.
my friends and i are having a challenge where each of us makes a team based around the primary type of our favourite pokemon. as my favourite is scizor i have to make an all bug team. Bug obviously isn't the strongest of types but there are some strong pokemon so i think it's doable

i have some basic thoughts but i really need help with movesets/ev spreads.

stealth rock will be a big problem so i think forretress as a spinner will probably have to feature, and as scizor is my favourite i want it in there too.

other strong bugs i can think of are heragross and yanmega, but i would really appreciate help on this one

thanks in advance

See if your friends will allow you to use pokemon from the Bug Egg Group- Flygon makes an excellent teammate with it's resistences to fire and rock, while Drapion and Gliscor also provide solid options.

Aside from the pokes you've listed, there aren't all too many viable bugs since almost all of them are NU. Scyther can still be a threat, sacrificing power and bulk for a significand speed boost over it's evolution. Pinsir can make a fairly effective lead with SR, a high attack stat and a priority move. Shedinja can even make an appearebce as a wild card against monotype teams where all pokes have similar coverage (For example, only two OU water types carry moves that can hit shedinja as standard). Just make sure it's sashed and has entry hazards removed for it.

I am planning/creating a rain dance team at the moment and I plan/wanting to use these pokemon

1)Lapras (breed to know dragon dance and is adament nature)
2)Kingdra (rain dance for speed boost)
3)Zapdos(caught this with modest nature- looks like it may have max spatk and was looking at putting choice scarf on it)
4)Gyarados (was thinking of having it now taunt because my friend told me at the last poke tourny that a lot of people were using trick room teams)
5)Rhyperior (lighting rod)
6)Omastar (wanting to use it basically because it is one of my favs)

If you have any other options of what I could use please fell free to let me know... thanks in advanced for the help

Hai!

I'm new to the forum, and also new to competetive pokemon battling.

My current team i used for the story line aren't gonna hold up in a battle. Also none of them are EV trained etc.

So i was hoping to start a team from scratch.

I'm open to any of your sure to be great ideas :)

I'm a BIG fan of alakazam, gotta love the Sattack =P
I also like garchomp.

Thanks in advance...

-Ebb the nab.

Later addition: i also have a salamence and garchomp i really like aswell :p

You may wanna hold off for a bit then, Garchomp is banned and Salamence is on the having it's fate decided this month too. Saves you centering your team around a poke that isn't even legal.

Battle Tower Team.

Abomasnow-Snow Warning [Docile] Miracle Seed
Blizzard | Wood Hammer/Seed Bomb | Earthquake | Stomp
Blizzard has 100% Acc because of Abomasnow's ability, Snow Warn.
I'm stuck between Wood Hammer and Seed Bomb. Both have 100% Acc, but with Wood Hammer I take recoil. Seed Bomb has a lower power at 80, but it's pretty solid and reliable.
Ground-type move for an Ice/Grass type, need I say more? Really? Wow. For those darn Fire types.
Stomp, eh. It's a good move and might make the foe flinch. I'm really iffy on this one, but I think it's a pretty good move.

Alakazam-Synchronize [Calm(+Sp.Def -Attack)] Twisted Spoon
Psychic | Shock Wave | Shadow Ball | Miracle Eye
Synchronize it it's ability because unless my foe uses Fake Out, I'll probably attack first anyway and won't flinch.
Psychic on Alakazam, how cliche! It's a good move and I maxed out it's PP.
A decent Electric type move that never misses. For those damn Gyrados.
Shadow Ball is for Ghost-types.
And Miracle Eye is so I can hit Dark-types with Psychic.

Charizard-Blaze [Modest(+Sp.Att -Att)] ???
Flamethrower | Dragon Pulse | Air Slash | Solar Beam
Flamethrower is pretty standard. Powerful and good PP with 100% Acc.
Dragon Pulse is... well, why not? Might change it for Sunny Day, though so Hail from Abomasnow doesn't hurt my team and to speed up Solar Beam. But Dragon Pulse is a reliable Dragon-type move for this Dragon wannabe.
Air Slash is a great STAB move that uses Charizard's Special Attack Stat. I'm not changing this one.
Solar Beam is for Rock-types and Water-types.

abomasnow would be better holding leftovers and having leech seed over stomp and with lefties and leech seed healing wood hammer would be better than seed bomb

Abomasnow@leftovers
wood hammer
blizzard
leech seed
EQ/subsitute

you could make charizard a sub + 3 attacks by replacing solar beam with subsitute and holding life orb

Charizard@life orb
flamethower
dragon pulse
air slash
subsitute

alakazam would be more helpful by using light screen and reflect while holding light clay

Alakazam@light clay
light screen
reflect
encore
taunt/psychic

might i suggest Butterfree, Shedinja, and Ninjask? Butterfree can learn some usefull flying attacks, Shedinja has a special ability that allows him to get unscathed in most situations, and Ninjask is just fricken awesome with a good defense and a speed boost to boot.

you also have vespiqueen, mothim, ledyba(sp) and a torrent of others. so what if they aren't ever used. thats what makes the team so unpredictable! your friend won't see it coming! MUWAHAHAHAHA!
