Did they make Mewtwo too powerful in the movie?
I mean Mewtwo managed to easily send back Garydos' hyper beam, and managed to easily pick up and throw multiple strong Pokemon at once.
I wonder if he could so easily do the same to Pokemon such as Darkrai, Celebi, Arceus, etc.

they probably did but i doubt him picking up an arceus and especially not darkrai.in the anime most psychics do stuff like that so they just had mewtwo do the same but a lote stronger.

I don' think they made Mewtwo too strong, at the time, he was definitely the main legendary Pokémon, and the final legendary in the original games, so they tried to make him stand up to his power from in the games.

Re: Did they make Mewtwo too powerful in the movie?
They made Mewtwo look too strong in the movie, because the movie, apparently, was pretty much focalizing Mewtwo. xD If any other Pokémon got Mewtwo's spot in the movie instead, I'm sure they would do the same. d:
Look at the Rise of Darkrai for example, Darkrai was considered the main Pokémon of that movie, and they've made Darkrai seem a little more powerful than Dialga and Palkia combined. d:

Re: Did they make Mewtwo too powerful in the movie?
Well Pokemon generally in the anime don't follow through with their power in the game. I mean, heck, Meowth in the anime knocked out Empoleon, Infernape, Togekiss, Seviper, and Yanmega with nothing more than Fury Swipes, and in one hit.
And yeah, Mewtwo at the time was the only legendary Pokemon at the time not counting Mew.

Seeing as it was the most powerful Pokemon back in the day, it has every right to be insanely dangerous.

Well, Mewtwo and Mew were the first legendary Pokemon they had, so they probably had to experiment and show that legendaries are different from your average Pokemon.

Yes, they did. Should've made it that way in the games.

Re: Did they make Mewtwo too powerful in the movie?
We can't forget here that Mewtwo was also genetically created by men to have enhanced power... so he has the DNA of the legendary pokemon Mew and the sciencetific enhancements from modern science (in their reality). I think its justified and I feel Mewtwo will always be one of the strongest pokemon, even in the game.
