Oh look another crazy German.
94 (Looks 24)
(The German version of Shinigami)
Prevailer of Being German :P (Number 5 in the 6th Company's Top Squad)
Emmett is a hothead; bold, brash, youthful, confident, and many of their synonyms would be acceptable ways to describe him. Even though he's no longer one of the younglings, he acts almost like one, and his superiors get just as mad at him as if he were for it. There was even a rumor going on that Emmett was being sent to Japan because no one could put up with him any longer, although everyone knows it's a joke. Emmett is very easygoing and loose, never one to get worked up over many things. It's this nature of his that allows him to get along very easily with others, yet at the same time irritate them to no end.
One of Emmett's strongest points and also one of his failings graces (he has a very dual nature unfortunately) is his complete and utter belief that he is indestructible. His self-confidence has allowed him challenge entire armies by himself, and his overwhelming confidence has renewed hope among his own comrades many times. Because of these reckless charges he's had more than his fair shares of multilation, but he takes it all with a smile and says it was his own fault. Emmett is largely an optimistic, he always believes that no matter what the situation, there's always some way to escape happily. Whenever he gets somber or depressed, people know there's something seriously wrong afoot.
The biggest reason Emmett is so young and so highly ranked is because of his connection with his zanpakuto. He and his sword get along extremely well, and he has managed to bypass decades of hard training and has on numerous occasions come incrdibly close to unlocking bankai. Emmett has been known to be one of the Damon-Morder's
fiercest fighters, and when the mood comes upon him he can slaughter incredible amounts of Damon
single-handedly. He has a many variety of attacks and employees unique ways of using them, making him unpredictable when battling.
Emmett was born in the year 1916, in the town of Buckeburg, Germany. He was the second-oldest son in the family, and when he grew up he had to carry on a large portion of the work that shared with his father. He was always known to have a bright, inconquerable spirit, even though he grew up in a country that had been devasted by the first World War which had ended when Emmett had been two years old. Even though he was optimistic, Emmett would sometimes look at the poverty and debts that the war had put his country through and even his optimism could not find a way out.
There were the dead people too. Always the dead people. They would smile and wave and him, almost all of them dressed in military uniform and perfoming drills in the streets, walking right through people. Some of them seemed attached to people and things, and some were pale bone-colored monsters with grotesquely shaped bodies and horrible mask with grinning teeth; whatever the case was Emmett learned rather quickly that he was the only person able to see them. He tried to keep quiet about the whole thing, but it was hard when you would wake up at three in the morning and see one of those terrible white faces grinning at you from your window. But to counter the ghosts and monsters were the good people, the ones who dressed in neat uniforms and walked around carrying swords. They always made the ghosts go away, and even though Emmett knew they had to be dead as well he ended up liking them.
The second World War came around when Alex was 24. Growing up with the terrible aftereffects of WWI, Emmett hardly ever knew a more different life from debts and poverty, and when Adolph Hilter promised Germany's greatness he, like so many others, went to join the Nazi party. Soon afterwards Emmett was transferred to Munich for a few months, and when the fighting really started he joined thousands of other troops invading Poland. On the battefield there were more on the white monsters than ever, and at the same time the men with swords were everywhere, frantically beating them back. Sometimes Emmett found it hard to concentrate of the battefield, preferring to watch the ethreal fights instead. One thing that happened to change his life was that, for once, he acknowledged the presence of this invisible people. He once witnessed one of the men fighting with a white monster, but as he defeated it another monster moved in while he was occupied. "Look out!" Emmett shouted, firing at the monster with his gun.
The bullet did not do anything, but it certainly got the attention of the both of them. The monster instantly roared and instantly charged, and when it was nearly upon Emmett a blade sliced through its head and it fell to the ground, dead. The man who killed it wiped his sword off, then stared at Emmett. Emmett stared back, wondering what in the world to do next. Then, in an instant, a bullet stuck him and he went down in the middle of battle.
When he woke up he was under the care of one of the medical units, and they were trying to remove the bullet from his body. And the man with the sword was there, always watching him. He blacked out again shortly afterwards and came to in one of the tents away from battle. Of course the man with the sword was there. He was very amiable, introducing himself as Marx and saying that he was grateful to Emmett for saving his life. No one else was in the tent, so it was a relief that no one saw Emmett talking to himself, and the duo talked quite freely. Marx talked with him well into the night, teling him about wandering ghosts and Damon
and the Damon-Morder
, the group he was a part of. Emmett found himself intriguied, these people sounded loads more interesting than Nazi Germany, even though they practically dressed the same. In the end Marx asked Emmett if he wanted to come with him, since Emmett would be perfect for the Damon-Morder.
Emmett said yes.
And so ended the career of Emmett Vanderburg. He was listed as a deserter, but was never found. All the while he was being trained at the Damon-Morder's
academy, which he excelled at. He found his Heiligesschwert
a lot sooner than the others did, and was soon communicating with his sword's spirit as if they were old friends. Despite that fact that he and his sowrd got along very well, it was frustratingly hard to learn anything new, since his sword had very high standards for him, but whenever he did learn something it was powerful.
With the new war for the Fell Stones rolling around, the Damon-Morder
revealed a secret they had kept for many years. A dark blue stone that was like crystallized ocean water. They had had it once before, during the first search for the stones, but Shintoko had come and slaughtered nearly every Damon-Morder
and taken the Stone. Later, when Shintoko had been imprisoned, the Stone had been returned to them. Now, with the Stones being hunted aain, the Damon-Morder
were afraid of a new attack and entrusted Emmett with the task of delivering the Stone to Valdemar Cornelius, who the Damon-Morder
believed lived in Japan.
: Emmett looks like a stereotypical aryan German. He is tall, about 6' 2", with a broad shoulders and an almost towering presence. He has semi-curly blond hair with bright blue eyes and a slight tan. He wears the Damon-Morder
uniform, which consists of a dark blue Waffenrock
along with an M43 field cap, ankle-length boots and his sword is always belted at his waist. The Damon-Morder
often changed official uniforms, and after the end of WWII it was decreed that the uniforms should stay the way they were, which is why he looks as if he just stepped out of the German battlefields from the 40s.
Seelenfäuste (Soul fists):
It's an art of fighting among the Damon-Morder,
the soldiers are obsessed with manipulating their spiritual energy to their means, and thus this form of gihting was born. The user concentrates their spiritual energy around their hands and feet, and this lends them extra strength and speed in hand-to-hand combat. If they happen to be wielding their sword, they can also creating arcs and blasts of energy with their blade as well. The stronger the person spiritual pressre is, the stronger this attack is.
Seelenkugel (Soul Bullet):
Another form of German fighting, where the user concentrates their energy into many bullet-shaped blasts that he sends into his enemy like gunfire. Just like real gunfire, it can tear an enemy to shreds, but it's very hard to do and takes a lot of energy.
("Sky Tears"): In its sealed form, Himmel-Tränen takes on the form of an elegant rapier. Unlike most rapiers, this one has a sharp edge and isn't used for just stabbing people. The hilt is a bright, reflective silver with a vein of deep blue running down it. The hilt is an elegant gold in a swept hilt
design that is carved to looks like crashing waves.
Schluchzen von Engeln ("Crying of Angels") The activation command is "Rain", and when activated the blade turns completely blue and two ribbons of water appear where the hilt meets the blade. These tendrils of water can grow to nearly any length, and are often used as whips or to grip things with. At Emmett's command these tendrils can break apart to form raindrops, which can then freeze and pelt the enemy with hail or turn into acid rain to burn them.
Shikai Special Ability:
If you haven't guessed, Himmel-Tränen is a Water-based zanpakuto. In it's shikai state, it summons water to attack foes, which can then turn into ice or burning acid rain. It can summon more water if it is given more power, although there is an extent as to ow much it can form.
Saurer Regen (Acid Rain):
In this attack the tendrils of water break apart into raindrops, which then become acid rain that can burn enemies. It doesn't melt people, contrary to popular belief, but it does burn like crazy and gods help you if it gets in your eyes. After extended periods of time it also has the corrosive effects of actual acid rain.
Sturm des Eises (Storm of Ice):
After the tendrils break apart into raindrops, they then freeze and become sharp edged hailstones. This attack can not only hurt you, but it can also blind you as well since some snow is thrown in to create a blizzard effect. The hailstones are so sharp that they can actually cut open your skin if hit at the the right angle.
Seraphs Tränen (Seraph's Tears):
Unlike the other techniques, this command actually has a healing effect rather than harming. It's hardly used, since it takes up more energy and time, but it is useful nevertheless. When commanded, water starts to build up at the point of the blade, like tears welling. Then, the drops start to fall as if the sword itself is crying, and the water that falls are like pure, liquid crystal. It only sheds a few of these special tears, but they can heal almost any injury they touch and even regrow some lost limbs. If drunk then the tears can cure poison.
Eingefrorener Speer (Icebound Spear):
The tendrils of water wrap around the blade, and then jut out in a manner similar to Gin's way of attacking. However, the water freezes, so the title "Frozen Spear" is quite literal as a spike of ice rips through your insides. The longer the range, the thinner the spear gets.
Bankai: Not yet achieved, altough he's quite close to it.
: Because Emmett has a Water-based zapakuto, he was given possession of the Droplet Stone in hopes that he would be able to understand it the most. He knows some Japanese, although he accent is barbaric and he says even more German words and phrases than Alex.
