B/W Metagame Discussion
Okay, didn't see a thread, but I thought that with Pokémon Online bringing in the 5th gen, that it's about time we had this.
Basically, discuss about the metagame, movesets and team options for the 5th gen Pokémon.
At the moment, my favourite to use is Jarooda with this moveset:
Jarooda @ Life Orb
Perversity
4 HP/252 Sp. ATK/252 Speed
-Leaf Storm
-HP Fire
-Mirror Coat
-Hyper Beam
Idea is to use Leaf Storm to boost Sp. Atk rapidly.
Any suggestions on how to improve?

Re: B/W Metagame Discussion
It's pretty much the popular Jalorda set from what I've seen. HP Fire is great for stuff like Nattorei, Scizor, and other Steel, Grass, or Bug-types that would wanna soak up your boosted Leaf Storms. Your last 2 moves don't really do much, but considering Jalorda's movepool, they're passable. Though, I would also suggest using Toxic/Reflect/Light Screen, to support the entire team, instead of the situational Mirror Coat. Also, why not switch out Hyper Beam for Frenzy Plant? Not only do you get STAB, but you can also hit Ghost-types and SE Rock-types. The only real advantage to Hyper Beam is that it hits Fire-types for neutral damage, which works depending on how many Leaf Storms you got up.
As for me, I've found a pair of movesets that have been working very well for me.

Yanakkii (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Seed Bomb
- Acrobat
- Taunt
- Brick Break
This was a surprising lead for me. It has 324 Attack, and 301 Speed, so it outspeeds a good amount of leads. Taunt is for the slower, bulkier Hazard Leads. The 3 Offensive moves provide the best Type Coverage for Yanakki. It can do a respectable amount of damage with Seed Bomb, with Acrobat covering the Grass and Bugs that resist it. Brick break can tear Ttar apart, and hits Nattorei decently.
Speaking of Nattorei

Nattorei (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
0 Speed IV's
EVs: 252 Atk / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
- Thunder Wave
- Explosion
First off, let me start by saying that the EV+Nature spread give Nattorei 330 Defense and Sdef, and the IV's ensure that Nattorei has 40 Spd, the lowest possible speed.(Unless I get Paralyzed, which makes this set all the sweeter). 273 Attack, is good enough to get the job done, considering Power Whip's high BP and Gyro Ball's potential. It's typing and Defenses allow it to switch into a lot of threats and take them down. Nattorei laughs in the face of Choice Band+Outrage Ononkusu, and Gyro Ball can knock a few other High-Speed sweepers down a peg or two. Thunderwave is useful to take out threats that Nattorei cant usually handle, if they decide to switch something like Shandarea in. Explosion, even though it's been nerfed, will still manage to set-up a revenge kill. Iron Barbs is also worth mentioning, as it is a great ability for thinning down the Physical Attackers.

Also, why not switch out Hyper Beam for Frenzy Plant?

Hyper Beam is actually the better option here, namely because Leaf Storm is superior to Frenzy Plant in virtually every instance that you'll need to use a grass move. It's only 10BP (15 Inc. STAB) weaker, and for that drop you gain +2 SpAtt per use and don't have to recharge. I can't really think of an instance when the benefit of continual stat boosting would be inferior to a negligible damage increase at the expense of a turn recharging. Hyperbeam, however, has decent synergy with Grass moves, with Steel being the only overlapping resistance and you have HP fire for that.
I'd personally go with Substitute over Mirror coat. It doesn't have the benefit of bouncing back status moves but it does block them and can also provide a buffer against attacks coming at you while you recharge.
But yeah, so far I'm finding the Dream World metagame to be one of the most fun playing environments yet. Everything is madly powerful and matches can get pretty hectic. As for my favourite sets, so far this has been one of the most common and effective sets I've come across:

Shanderaa@\Choice Scarf
Timid (Shadow Tag)
252SpAtt/252Spd/6Def
Fire Blast
Shadow Ball
HP Fighting
Energy Ball/Momento
Best revenge killer in the game, hands down. Trap things and nuke them with that obsecene SpAtt stat that makes a fair few ubers blush. Virtually nothing is escaping Shadow Tag, allowing you to pick the best option for attacking with literally no risk. Alternatively Momento gives your next Pokemon unparalleled ease of setting up as the opponent is left with pathetic attacking stats. I can see this becoming one of the staple threats all teams have to prepare for.

lets not forget eccentric choice scarf ditto and doryuuzu under sandstorm but as a trapper/revenge killer shandeera is the best, but under test shandeera has limits to what it can trap. it can't trap doryuuzu because of obvious speed difference and scarf chomp easily ohko's shandeera. shandeera best traps walls. these includes the big entry hazzard set ups skarmory and forretress. other notable pokemon shandeera can trap is scizor, bronzong, shubarugo, metagross(unless it has used agility) and many bulky steels.

um, leaf storm decreases special attack rapidly, mirror coat sucks on an offencive pokemon, hyper beam is fail etc. jaroda should be used more for support, or else lots of sweepers outclass it.
Anyways, I hate seeing nattorei in every team
