The Choose-Your-Own-Creepy-Story-Thread V1 (working title)
This will work like one of those old choose-your-own adventure books; you read, then the posts after that will vote for what they want to do, and I, the story master, will write up what happens as a result.
Let's start with an intro I grabbed off a site-that-shall-not-be-named, but there there on in, the rest would be written by me.
Nothing. It's what surrounds you. Blackness envelops your environment. You feel nothing, you see nothing, you hear absolutely nothing. You know almost nothing. You do know one thing. You exist. Your existence is all that pervades the blackness. You don't know who you are, what you are, why you're here, how long you've been here. Then suddenly, white. It fills your surroundings, eliminates the blackness, envelopes you whole. It's gone now, and you're in a room. It's empty, save for the lonely wooden rocking chair in the corner in front of you. The walls are covered in old striped wallpaper, peeling off at the corners. Behind you, a door that hangs ajar, leading into the seemingly empty hallway. A window to your left, light seeping threw the closed blinds. You reach out to open them, but your mind is filled with horror. You can't see your arm. It's nonexistent, or invisible, per se. Then it hits you. You're dead. This is your room. You...are a ghost.
You don't know how you know this. You don't know why you know this. Your own name is a mystery to you, yet, you know that you are no longer part of the living, but instead, part of the dead. You don't even know your gender, for your thoughts and knowledge are androgynous. You are left to haunt this house, your place of death. For how long, who knows. Perhaps eternity. You move, or more like aimlessly drift/walk, throughout the now empty house. It seems that all your belongings are now gone and have been moved out. Maybe to a dump. The lonely wooden rocking chair is now the only item in the house. You have tried to exit your house through the front door, but it seems that you have barely any strength to do so, and even more, your invisible hand cannot grasp onto anything. You are left to wander in your house, stuck in this area, unable to do anything but drift and think.
Soon, construction workers come into your house. They remodel it, changing room structure, changing the wallpaper. You observe them, since it was an opportunity to observe the living. During their visit, you realized that you could move and push over small objects that didn't weight much. You are delighted in this fact, and the construction workers spent most of their time wondering why many things were often misplaced, due to your mischievous activities. Then, they leave. This new, remodeled house looks very different, but very nice as well. A family of four soon moves in. A relatively normal family. A wife and a husband with two teenage kids. A daughter who is 13 years old and follows pop culture like a normal mindless American girl, and a son who is the normal football playing jock, who is 16 years old. You're bored out of your ****ing mind, so might as well have fun with them, right? I mean, who would spend an entire eternity as a ghost not doing anything? Let's start.
What would you like to do first?
A) Observe them for the first week.
B) Go after the middle aged couple first.
C) Go after the daughter first.
D) Go after the son first.
E) Just bother the family as a whole by doing random annoying things.
Voting begins now.
