Can't upload an avatar

Every time I try and add an avater i get the following messgae

Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file.

I have used a variety of images and sources. I'm trying to upload direct from the web, i'll try uploading from my PC, but so far, no luck.

EDIT: it worked direct from my PC but not when i put in an image url

Yes, there's some problem with that for quite a long while now. Just save the image to your computer and upload, that's what I do all the time.

Same here, it's not a problem with you or anything, but it's not that hard to right click then click save. Just do that.

its not hard but it uses up my download limit!

Okay, when you find an image you like, right click it and select 'view image'.
The page will turn all white other than the image, which will be in the upper left corner. Copy and paste that URL in the area where it says to put the image URL.
If that doesn't work, then right click the image (on the view image page) and save it. The upload and it'll work.
Hope this helped and sorry my terminology is kinda vague.

Just delete it afterward. Your avatar will still be saved.
