Default Ash's Starter(s)

Do you find it weird that Ash was able to have all three starters in the first two regions?

What do you think? Discuss.

No. The anime just started out; it seemed weird to give starters to any of the other protagonists. Now, that is not the case.

I don't think it was weird either, the pokemon are out there, so why wouldn't Ash be able to catch them?

Yeah, unlike the games there'd have to be some wild starters out there. I'm sure they'd be fairly rare, but we all know Ash has amazing luck, so it's not really weird.

Besides it was good that all the starters got a main part in the series. It also related the show more to the games as then Ash actually had the Pokemon that people could start with. I suppose it was kinda good they mixed it up in Hoenn, even though that led to Treecko getting way more screentime and Mudkip being almost forgotten, but from the few Sinnoh episodes I've seen, they seem to have the balance right this time.

Ahhh.

So what all of you are saying is that Ash would be the best possible person to have been given the starters to instead of splitting them individually?

True for the first two main regions, but not so for the subsequent ones.

I think he should have all three starters again in the 5th Gen, it just depends on what the starters exactly are.

Yes, if you consider that Ash's Pokemon get the most air time and the starters would be the Pokemon they'd want to show off the most.

Depends what angle you're trying to get at.

Hey, that's the reason I'm looking for!

Thanks. :D
