Default Oh the Horror!

With the recent dicussion of horror films, I'd thought I would make a thread where we can talk about great horror films and recommend titles for people to watch. Some titles I recommend:

High Tension
The People Under the Stairs
Night of the Living Dead (Original)
Dawn of the Dead (Remake)
Halloween
Cannibal Holocaust
Psycho (Original)
Rosemary's Baby
The Thing
The Descent
Inside
Calvaire

I have a few :o.

The Forsaken: A good vampire flick with decent acting.
Killer Pad: Freakin' hilarious. One of those spoofs.
The Strangers: Pretty creepy!
Haunted House: Or something like that. It's a really old movie, but also really creepy.
Saw I: Good ending :o.

Off the top of my head.

'The Strangers' is crap compared to something like 'Them'. Now that actually had me on the edge of my seat. xD

I'd reccomend The Sixth Sense, I love that movie.
The twist at the end I never saw coming.

I would definitely recommend the following to horror buffs (or, at least, those who have an affinity for more of the psychological side of horror rather than gore and mindless violence):

~ Them (French title is "Ils"; incredible suspense, it's realistic and you can never look away)
~ Bug (not for all tastes; highly disturbing psychological horror thriller)
~ Marebito (one of the best J-horror films I've seen; bizarre, original and shocking)
~ Mulholland Drive (not really 'horror', but disturbing nevertheless; it's by David Lynch so you know it's really weird, lol)
~ Eraserhead (again, it's not really 'horror', but highly disturbing and unsettling; David Lynch's first film)
~ Begotten (bizarre, independent film that is unsettling and highly symbolic; definitely not for all tastes)
~ A Tale of Two Sisters (the most frightening and one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen)
~ Audition (possibly overrated, but a great film that will never leave you)
~ Jacob's Ladder (original, bizarre and disturbing; truly worth a viewing or two)
~ Videodrome (you'll never look at a TV the same way again)
~ Poltergeist (same as above; a horror/sci-fi classic)
~ The Cell (psychological thriller that is high surreal and beautiful; absolutely a must to watch)

That's all I can really think of at the moment; it's still early, lol. When I think of more I'll be sure to post 'em.
