Default How the Johto League influenced Pokémon.

As we all know, GSC greatly influenced pokemon in general. But the question is, exactly how much?? Let's come up with as many examples as possible...

Example of post:

GSC introduction
how it influenced pokemon
when it became big
which was it introduced in, GS or C?

in tribute of all of our favorite region, Johto!!

it was actually one of the best generation of pokemon in my opinion(the pearl/diamond/platinum is still my fav).my favorite pokemon is lugia. i mean it brought the day/nite time shift thingy, great storyline, and the graphics were amazing for that time period

I'm absolutely shocked that these two things havent been mentioned first:

1- Crystal moving sprites- not seen again until Emerald

2- SHINY POKEMON!!! C'MON! Who forgot to put this in there, huh?

Dont worry im not really mad that no one thought of it :)

The ability to be a girl trainer in Crystal. ;D I agree, Johto and Kanto are my favorite generations of Pokemon.

To be honest, the story has fallen far, starting with the GSC generation. I loved the RBY story, but it declined fast with GSC and RSE. D/p is a huge improvement over the previous 2 generations.

The fact that after you beat the Elite four, you could go back into Kanto and get the other 8badges was soo cool. And the final test was PkMn Trainer Red himself =D

They introduced berries in Johto too, right? That's got to count for something. Oh, and did they introduce hold items too? Or am I getting ahead of things too? But I do know they had berries and that's been a big part of Pokémon since then.
