Hes not being rude or obnoxious. He just doesn't feel like explaining in great detail what each mean. He also gave some good advice that being to look it up somewhere. A good search of google would probably ge thim all the data he wanted.

types are divided into two groups pysical and special

special attack is used to detirmine the power of special type attacks.

special defense is defense used against special type atacks

Lan is a nice guy. And he is right for telling you to look it up, but I will help. as Pika said, types are divided into Physical and Special Attacks. Special Attacks will be calculated using the Special Attack stat of the Pokemon, while Physical Attacks will be calculated by using just the Attack stat of the Pokemon. The same goes for Special Defense. The Special Defense stat will be used when defending against Special Attacks, and the Defense stat will be used when defending against Physical Attacks. Here is a list of Special Attack types and Physical Attack Types:

Special Attacks: Ice, Fire, Dark, Water, Electric, Grass, Psychic, and Dragon.

Physical Attacks: Rock, Ground, Normal, Fighting, Ghost, Bug, Flying, Steel, and Poison.

Special Attack:

Your pokemon's attack toward what it is strong against.
