Do Horror Movies Scare You?

A little late, I know. -_-; But I didn't have time to use the computer on Halloween.

Anyways, do scary or horror movies actually frighten you, or at least do most of them? Is there anything that you think is perhaps the scariest part of them to you? Any miscellaneous discussion about horror movies that you feel you must discuss?

Classic scary movies don't seem to phase me, but it makes my flesh tingle when they rip apart the skin of people. Chilling. And loud noises usually make me flinch, too, which would probably put surprises up there, too.

So, yeah.

Only if it's a REAL good movie, like Stay Alive, or Hostel. Other than that, no. And Turistas is NOT a horror movie! That movie was garbage!

I agree that Turistas was garbage, but it's not like Stay Alive or Hostel were miles ahead of it in terms of quality :P

It depends on what kind of horror film. I typically don't like exploitative films (although Cannibal Holocaust was really good). Old-school slasher movies have their moments, but to me the scariest movies are one that combine atmospheric horror with a good old dosage of violence. Alien, Silence of The Lambs, A Clockwork Orange are probably my favorites, and the ones that scared me the most. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original) wasn't very violent at all, but it's also up there.

No, they really don't. The only part that scares me is how stupid some of the people in the movies are.
