Is the Thumb a Finger?

Even if I found the third knuckle on mine, I still don't think that it is a finger because it's an extension of the hand. And some mammals don't have opposable thumbs, so it isn't a finger because of this strong statement. xP

No. Fingers have an extra joint. If you had a hand of all thumbs, you'd be in trouble.

I believe it comes down to whether a person whats to call it a thumb or a finger.
Although it is different to other fingers I suppose if it is still on your hand and it does the exact same thing as a finger then I say yes it is a finger.

It comes down to personal belief and I doubt there is a right or wrong in this case.

I suppose that logically it is; the thumb to your fingers = your big toe to your toes.
