Default Levitating pokemon hit by earthquake?

Ahhhhhhhhh this is so frustrating!!

Battle 55 at the battle tower, guy sends out scizor, it swords dances and baton passes to rampardos. And the rampardos then Earthquakes my Bronzong (which has the ability levitate) and rapes it's dead body.

Needless to say, I didn't kill the rampardos because it had a focus sash, and it went on to rape the rest of my team.

Can anybody help me make any sense of this?

Rampardos
Ability: Mold Breaker

Mold Breaker: Prevents Pokemon from being affected by foe Pokemon's abilities during battle.

I'd guess Mold Breaker voided out the Levitate ability.
