I'm thinking
I just restarted my red and I think I am going to use this team
Bulbasaur Pidgy Growlithe Hitmonchan Poliwag Digglett and eventually their evolve forms. How does this team sound?

It's well balanced type wise, although it might be smart to use Ice types that can use water moves etc to mix up your team.
