Default Guess how much Americans have to pay/work to keep the Government working!

Already, we've got a government intending to suck the life out of people, are favorable to Corporates at the cost of Middle Class, has given control of the economy {Aka Federal Reserve, the Central Bank} to the Private Sector to manage and control our economy system, forcing Americans to pay income taxes for the last 100 years, when it didn't exist before, just to run their wars. In addition, thanks to a bunch of economic policies, the value of the dollar has crashed and it's now worth four cents, as compared to the dollar a few decades ago. Everyone's wealth is eroding, but the government was indifferent. They printed billions of money out of thin air, to protect Corporates. Guess what's next?

http://americanfreepress.net/html/pay_tax_man_143.html

U.S. taxpayer toils 197 days, gives 53.9% of income to local, state, federal governments.

“Working people must toil on average 197 days out of the year just to meet all costs imposed by the government. In other words, the cost of government consumes 53.9 percent of national income,” the Center for Fiscal Accountability (CFA) reported. “All components of the cost of government—federal spending, state and local spending, and regulation—are now increasing faster than national income.”

Federal spending as a percentage of national income will increase again in 2008 and is up 11.4 percent since 2000,” CFA said.

This year’s high deficit was made much worse by the $200 billion economic stimulus package, which the CFA said will have no positive prolonged impact on the economy.

The cost of regulation in America goes further than taxes though, reports the CFA. The economic cost of complying with regulations could be more than $1.5 trillion per year.

“These costs are threatening to explode due to costly and unnecessary global warming regulation,” CFA said. “This would lay close to a trillion [more] dollars a year in unnecessary costs on the American economy, just to start. The price of gasoline would increase further, and the cost of electricity would begin to soar as well. The cost of food, and especially meat, would rise due to higher costs for fertilizer, farm fuel, truck hauling for produce, and other factors.”

And it's just getting worse and worse. Oh, also, working people refers to people who are in the Middle Class or in that field, those who work in a private company in a non-coporate job to earn a wage.

Although I appreciate the detail, I could have listened to two old men in the park sum this up in two words;

America's screwed.

Strange thing is that Canadians are taxed much more heavily than you guys, and it's a prime example of what shouldn't be done, because our economy is screwed much moreso than you guys. How so? We have oil in ONE province, and it's driving the dollar value up when all the other provinces are floundering. The result? Our economy is going downhill, and we'll be in terrible shape once the oil fiasco is over. I expect our unemployment rate to like triple, with all honesty, before our dollar drops.

Yea, but it's free money. Who doesn't love free money?

You live in Canada? We're neighbors! (Minnesota)

Honestly, we won't be in as deep as we were for the great depression, and thus, we'll hold out. Just give it a few years.
