No, Hyper Beam's no good with Tyranitar...The only Pokemon it really works with is Porygon-Z because it gets an insane 300 Base Power off of Hyper Beam. First of all, his Special Attack isn't great enough to warrant its use (it's still good enough to allow Ice Beam, though), and Tyranitar's very slow, so you don't want something getting a free switch-in on the turn he just sits there to get killed. Tyranitar is an all-out brawler, just like Lucario and Heracross, and so he needs as much time to do so as he can possibly get. Hyper Beam only cripple that effectiveness, and it leaves him completely vulnerable for an entire turn.
As for Gengar, you're going to get royally screwed by Steel walls and sweepers that come in to set up on you, like Scizor or Bronzong. Sludge Bomb has terrible coverage, and Gengar is too frail to pull off the strategy you have there, especially when he's powerful enough as it is. Just try Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, and Destiny Bond with a Choice Scarf. Good for revenge kills and fast sweepers. Will-O-Wisp can go over Destiny Bond to cripple sweepers, but if you can predict well, you can Destiny Bond a pesky Garchomp and watch him die as you do.
