Default Kyroge and Groundon in Emerald

I was wondering, if you go to a sea/land cave, Battle Kyroge/Groundon and do it any damage, then run, would it be gone forever? Or would it be like Latias/Latios and be aviable again with the damage still on it?

just a stupid question

If you faint them then you have to go back to the Weather Institute, and get their whereabouts again. I don't know about running from them though.

Running away will not retain damage.
