Default Flood Control

To stop double postingyou can set-up a flood control like not to post 2 times in a row or can't post again within certain amount of time. But the only 2 places this wouldn't go is the Pokemon Stories section and mixed groups and clubs.

Then they'll just post again 30 seconds later. The only double posting that occurs on this forum is from the fact that there is a maximum amount of words you can put into a post. That's the thing they should take out.

Also most people do'nt double post purposley. They might want to edit something so they click the edit buttton when it has already has been posted. It has happen to me many times.

If people do it puposley then it must be the word limit in the post or because they are newbies who havent read the rules or are too blind to notice the EDIT botton with the Scizor on it.

The best thing to do would be to erase word limits and create a flood control which would prevent posting in a thread if the last post was by yourself (Which would deactivate after a few hours), with exception to both of these in FanFiction (Or we'd have tons of people adding every chapter thus far written into a single post, making it hell to read, or the like).

All the flood control would need (script-wise) is to check if you''re the last poster, and if so, check how many hours it was since you posted the last post in the thread. If less than so many hours it would prevent you from posting, yet if it was more than so many hours, you'd be able to post.

I know how to script such a thing with JavaScript, but the forums are PHP, although they should follow the same principles (Meaning, yes, this is easily possible).

That be good.

That would save a pointless next post

that would be good but not hours just seeing if you were the last poster and if you were, you would have to wait until someone else posted

Besides the examples Zark already give, I would like to add the Refering threads in the URPG and the fanfictions. It is impossible to post twice the same post, and I think the only way to solve this is to read the rules. Simple. And if someone was about to double post, a warning message could simply appear, like KZ said. If the person still does it, someone could be notified if the post was unjustified.
