Default [RP] Hell and Earth

The Story/Plot

Barren. The lands, windswept and weatherworn were almost completely incapable of sustaining all but the simplest of life and hardiest of predators. Terrain has altered everywhere, seasons have become unpredictable and even the lengths of day and night shift in erratic patterns. Disease has taken the land by storm, coming from the inevitable and untraceable Storms that harness the power of gravity and physics itself to erase all from its path. This world, once flourishing and healthy has become a wasteland unfit for even the cockroaches to roam. And yet despite all of this, somehow Humans and select Pokemon have coped and survived (though many wouldn’t say as much).

Many of the survivors live in small communities (often ten people or less) called Sholds. They struggle for survival as they search for Oasis, a land said to exist outside of temporal space. The realm of the Gods’ where the Legendary Lords reside; only they can put a stop to this insanity. Only, the Humans don’t know how to reach this magical fold of existence and nor do the Pokemon who were born in this era. Time is of the essence now that the Storms’ are getting more and more frequent and violent; the land itself sometimes seems to change overnight.

Your Role

As the climate grows more drastic it has become more and more important to find the hallowed Oasis. Use and means necessary, but beware of the violent and unpredictable Storms that can show up at any time. The population has thus been split into four major groups. Each group is a specific for the type of living one might want to do; these include:

Wayfarer- A small group of vagabonds, often with nothing more than the clothing on their back. Most, but not all, don’t have a Pokemon companion and those that do rarely have more than one so they don’t have to worry so much about another. They are often picky and snide, lonely at heart but very conceited. They drift from Shold to Shold in search of anything that might point them in the direction of the Oasis.

Rouges- A larger group than Wayfarers; rough and tough with a violent territorial system. They can be anything from thieves in groups of one to five or a large gang of bandits. In either case, the Rouges are no good. Like the Wayfarer, they usually only have one (maybe two) Pokemon. They carry of within their territories, many secretly searching for the Oasis whilst they plunder.

Guards - The second largest group, protectors of the Civilians and Sholds. They are firm, rough and some are known to be somewhat brutal in their ways. They look down upon everyone and aren’t afraid to show brute force before thought when it comes to rouges and the occasional Wayfarer. All guards are issued two standard Pokemon, a Flying type and some sort of ground-walking type.

Civilians- The largest group, they are the main sustenance of population. A civilian can be anyone who resides under the strict rules and constant fear; many have no Pokemon and no family. They cannot be responsible for anyone but themselves really, in this world that demands so much out of what little they are given.

The Role-Play:

Character: Eusrac

A deathly wind rolled over what was once Sunnyshore City, the ghostly tails whipping up dust and fragments of what once was the world. Life refused to grow here, plants, Pokemon; even humans found this plane unbearable and unfit for even the most willing of lives. In the far distance, the brown-gold sun was setting over the mountains that had at one point been hidden by the seas, casting the rust colored skies a sickening crimson that slowly began to fade away to a soft navy blue.

A man stood in the middle of this desolate waste of a land, hidden behind his heavy cloaks and all seeing gaze. A man that seemed at one with this new world, a man so attuned to the nonexistent nature around him that he seemed an ever being statue; immune to even time itself. This man was Eusrac, and only he felt that he was not at one or even willed to the destroyed Earth.

As time goes on the moon will rise; the stars above will still my eyes. None of course can see the light, for it is now that the sun so bright, even the strongest of flames must go out… He clutched his head and gave a groan close to agony. He heard that same rhyme, the same soft tune in his head every time the moon rose or the sun set (for one did not always happen without the other anymore) that helped with his mounting insanity; or sense there of. As time goes on the moon will rise… he let out another dark growl and started walking again. He did not know where or in what direction he proceeded anymore, for he had nowhere else to go; the walking eased the voices and tired him body and mind until he would simply collapse on the bare, desert like ground and pray for a storm to sweep over while he slept. As if he had no fears, ready to walk into the eye of the growing violence of the Storms.

Character: Mari

Raven Shold was a quaint little Shold, located in what used to be the sea between Sunnyshore City and the ever sought Victory Road entrance. Mari loved to sit at the city gates and watch the ever changing scenery drift around the tall mountains that had made up the bottom of the seas, and the rust red sky glint and blend over the weatherworn lands. There were times when she just enjoyed being quiet like this, just outside the Shold where nobody yelled at her for being in the way, or being to loud or attracting attention to herself when she shouldn’t have. Truth was, poor Mari was lonely, and always had been since her parents’ death. The Shold continued to care for her out of necessity, but she had that twinge that they did it because they felt they had to, not because she meant anything to them.

Time had virtually no meaning out in this desolate land. The sun would go up and the moon would rise, eclipses were common and weather could be a disaster. Though thankfully, Raven Shold had upheld four proud years of constancy, no Storms to bother them and their worst weather being the flash floods that filled the small valley every once in a while. The Shold, though, did not question its good fortune by slacking; they still posted their two guards in regular twelve hour intervals and were cautious with what they did. All, that is, except Mari.

“Storm!” the unnerving cry echoed out into the still, dusty air with some animosity. There was a long moment that seemed frozen in time, a moment where the hot air was mixed with tension and dry heat. Slowly the realization began to sink in to the Shold Members and panic washed over the area. Booms and clatters could be heard from the four large buildings of the unusually immense Shold of almost thirty people. Cries could be heard now, scrambled running and shouting and packing. Mari quickly grabbed hold of the frame of the city gate and began to climb up its ladder like structure until she sat at the top, overlooking the enormous expanse of land.

Sure enough, in the western horizon was the telltale angry black clouds swirling dangerously low, spewing lightning and poison rain. Below it, the ground shook and rose in some parts, unnerved by the natural unnatural phenomena rumbling and lashing out above. It moved to fast to be a regular storm, and there was a sense of danger about it. Below her, in the Shold, Mari watched as the people scrambled about, screaming and gathering their loved ones, already so many were out of the eastern gates to Mari’s left and running for their lives.

Mari was getting ready to jump down, scanning the wall for a nearby ladder. Out of seemingly nowhere, a blue and white blur fell from the soft crimson sky and smacked Mari in the back of her head, knocking her from the wall so that she tumbled down and over the edge of the wall which, thankfully, wasn’t that high. The little puff ball followed her down, squawking and chirping, flailing its little cotton ball wings as if it were dancing. When Mari hit the ground, she blacked out.

\\//OOC: Sorry if it’s a little odd for a start, but here’s the Role-Play! Please enjoy, if you have any questions, please PM me or e-mail me at!\\//

Jazza ran through the ruins of Sunnyshore, hopping over obstacles and ducking under horizontal poles. Glancing behind him, he saw that the Lucario hadn't stopped following him. He ran harder, his jumps becoming longer and his goal in sight. His goal was a staircase, and if he could reach that, he was safe. Glanced behind him; no Lucario in sight. He sighed in releif, and if that wasn't releiving enough, the staircase was only a few metres away. He was going to make it! He glanced behind himself again, and when he turned back; bang. He ran into the Lucario, falling to the floor.

"What do you want???" Jazza yelled, brushing his hair from out of his hazel eyes.

"I saw you steal it. That bread. Return it." The Lucario said, calmly. A stare of ensued...and both burst out laughing.

"Well done Lucki, you got me!" Jazza laughed, standing up and brushing the dust from his black shirt. "Let's climb the stairs now, i'm getting cold."

As they ascended the stairs, Jazza looked out at the city; nothing but rubble, now. It was a shame...Sunnyshore was such a beautiful city before. He looked a little harder, and saw a figure on the floor, not moving. His senses kicked in, and he jumped over the wall next to the staircase, landing on the floor and running forward. Lucki followed, unknowing of what was going on.

They eventually reached the city gates, and saw a young lookinh short girl on the floor, with a....with a SWABLU OVERHEAD??

"Lucki, what the heck is that Swablu doing there?? Didn't their race like...die out??"

"Not quite, Jazza. See, they are in decline, that is all. This little one must have been one of the for the girl...well, we'd better take care of her."

Jazza and Lucki picked the girl up, and carried her back to the staircase, the Swablu following.

constantine stared out into the desert. "i wonder if this is how it is everywhere?" he thought to himself.
constantine lived in olive shold, near what used to be snowpoint. olive shold was surrounded by desert and paved road on all sides. it was desolate and lifeless outside the walls and few dared to leave. only guards and merchants ever really went outside. constantine watched the cloudless sky and could feel himself falling asleep. another eventless day....

naomi wandered along the stone path, which soon ended in just sand. a desert, stretching almost thirty miles, was her travel to the next shold. swampert could help with that, but she would do as much as she could on her own. she walked and eventually began to see a few other people, wayfarers, but she ignored them. she pressed forward for about eight miles and then she had to rest. she called forth swampert and had him spray a little water into a sack. "thanks buddy" she said.
swampert nodded and then sat next to her. "well, swampy, it looks like we've got quite a bit to go. do you want to rest for the night or keep going?" swampert closed his eyes as if to say they should rest"fine..." naomi fell asleep on swampert. she needed rest too, as little as she wanted to admit it.
