Emerald Gym Troubles - Pokemon Forum

Yeah, well my PC recently broke down and so I resorted to playing.. *cough*... Pokemon again. Anyway, things have been going very smoothly. I've got a party with Manectric, Swampert, Combusken, Gardevoir, Skarmory and Vibrava.

So yeah, just before I reached Mossdeep my Pokemon started to seem lower level than what they should of been, to the extent that they weren't much tougher than some wild pokemon in the area. When I finally deep get to Mossdeep and attempted to battle Liza and Tate, I was nothing short of completely smashed. My supposedly "super effective" moves such as Thunderbolt on Xatu were only taking away 1/5th of the foes health.

My question is this: did I miss some large place with plenty of trainers somewhere? I swear I've beaten all of the trainers in my area but my pokemon are still in the mid thirties.

Did you go to team magma's and team aqua's hideouts? I was under the impression that you needed to go to both before you can surf toward mossdeep, but it has been a while since I played emerald's story, I can't think of anywhere that you "missed", not anywhere that you are required to go anyways, I guess you could have missed the water routes beween petalburg, dewford, and slateport, or maybe the desert, or the water above rustboro, but none of those locations are compulsory, and I usually cream all the gyms without going to those places, I can't think of what you might have missed.

Yeah, I've been to all those places. The weird thing is I can remember absolutely smashing Tate & Liza the first time I played around but this time I can't even faint one of their Pokemon.

well, just keep training ur pokemon until u think u can beat t&l

have u used AR on it? If not call nintendo cuz it might be defective

maybe you just havent spread out the battling like you have only used one pokemon like your starter through out the game like i did with emerald

Hm...the Trick House could help if you get far enough...have you helped Steven at the Spaceship place? I cant remember if you need to beat the leader(s) first though...what about stat raisers like carbos, iron etc.?
