Cinnabar Eruption: Chapter 1

*BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP*. The alarm clock rang at its loudest. Bill tapped the snooze button. "5 more minutes wouldn't hurt" he said to himself. Bill was only 13. He was dark haired, very tall, and wore glasses. Bill, soon fell half-asleep and the alarm clock rang again. Bill got out of bed, with giant bags under his eyes. Even though Bill was excited, despite how tired he was. The Pokemon Champion, Red would be coming. Bill went downstairs for some breakfast.

"Bill, your eggs are ready" said his mother. Bill took the eggs and ate them, more like devoured them. Then, Bill stepped outsied and walked to the newly built Fossil Revival Center (FRC). Bill's dad eagerly waited for him.

"Are you ready to meet Red?" asked his dad. Bill's dad was a kind of short, geeky guy with glasses.

"You betcha, I am ready to show Red my Pokemon that I have been training these past three years!" said Bill.

"Well, we still have three hours before Red arrives, do you want to see the newly revived fossil pokemon?"

"What have they recently revived?"

"Well, they recieved a Lileep fossil and now they have a Lileep, it will add good data to that pokedex thingy that recently came out."

"Sure, let's go." Bill and his dad went inside the FRC, the Lileep was inside the cage. Joe, one of the workers there, brought Lileep out. The Lileep like Bill. "Can I have it?" asked Bill.

"Sure thing, it will get him off our hands." said Joe. Joe was a muscular man, who had a very deep voice.

"Thank you," said Bill. Bill galloped away with his new pokemon. His dad stayed at the FRC, observing the Pokemon. Three hours passed. Bill's dad had come home. The doorbell rang, IT WAS RED!!! Red was well into his 30's by now.

Red came up to Bill's dad. "Hello, old friend, it has been a while since I have seen you." Red, then, walked up to Bill. "Wow! you have sure grown since the last time I saw you. How is that charmander I gave you?"

"It is great!" said Bill. "I evolved it into a Charizard and it is very powerful."

"Good to hear that," said Red. Bill wanted to take Red around Cinnabar, so Bill, his dad, and Red all went to the cave where the Pokemon Mansion used to be (in G/S/C it was destroyed). They had a fun time inside the cave. When they came out, something unexpected happened.

The ground started to rumble, Bill looked up at the volcanoe. "O my God!" he shouted, "the volcanoe is erupting!" The lava started pooring down. The three started running as giant flaming rocks and ashes fell out of the sky. Bill tripped and all of his pokeballs fell. Bill didn't notice, and kept running.

Bill's dad ran the slowest. Red looked up and saw a flaming rock. It was about to fall on him! Red quickly moved out of the way, but Bill's dad moved into the same place, Bill's dad looked up, also. He saw the rock and it landed on him! Bill's dad was dead! His arms and legs were sticking out as his body began to catch fire. Bill was shocked and scared, he kept running, checking his belt of pokeballs to get out Charizard. They were gone...

Chapter 2: In the Heat of it All

“Great! I don’t have my pokeballs and I just witnessed the brutal death of my father,” said Bill, gently weeping behind his speaking.

“We have to go!” said Red. “It is not smart being in the heat of it all!”

“I can’t, I don’t know where my pokemon are and-“ Red pushed Bill out of the way of one of the falling rocks.

“The lava is coming down, we need to find someplace safe!” Just then they met Joe, who was also running.

“You guys,” said Joe “, we need to find someplace safe, I think the cave would be the best place.”

Red nodded and they ran back, with the lava coming down, they had a limited amount of time to reach the cave. The lava would soon block the entrance. Bill began to lag behind, but read took his hand and picked up Bill. Bill was on Red’s shoulders. Joe jumped into the cave right before the lava blocked it. Red knew that he could throw Bill but could not make it himself. Red made his decision and threw Bill. Joe caught Bill and the entrance of the cave collapsed. Red was outside, his fate was unknown.

Joe and Bill found themselves in total darkness. “Now my Ninjask can come out, with the fire gone,” said Joe. Joe brought his Ninjask out and Ninjask used flash. Joe and Bill delved deeper into the murky cave. As they moved they met a group of tourists who also got trapped in the cave. The tourists joined Joe and Bill.

There were 3 tourists: Samantha, George, and Han. Samantha was 13, and a little short for her age. She was blond. George and Han were both adults, tall and skinny. They all introduced each other and continued. Bill got acquainted with Samantha on their journey.

“Where do you come from?” asked Bill.

“I come from Jublife City, in the Sinnoh region. It is a big city.”

“Do you like to train pokemon?”

“Not really, but I do have the old version of the pokedex.”

“Can I see it?”

“It was probably burnt at the hotel, plus you wouldn’t like it. It can only store 150 pokemon.”

“But the old dex is pretty hard to come by, where did you get it?”
“My dad had a business meeting in Pallet Town, where the famous Prof. Oak lives. Oak gave my dad the dex.” Bill soon forgot all of his troubles. He even forgot that he was trapped in a cave. Bill and Samantha continued to talk.

Up in front, George and Han were speaking with Joe.

“We are Samantha’s uncles,” said George.

“We are also identical twins,” said Hans.

“Where is her father?”

“Probably dead,” George whispered into Joe’s ear to avoid Samantha hearing it.

“Mother?” questioned Joe.

“She died a while ago, from cancer,” said Hans in a quiet voice. Joe stopped talking after that. He was to worried about finding the exit he wanted to get to. Joe explored the cave since he moved to Cinnabar, so he knew the cave like the back of hid hand.

After a couple of minutes they saw lava oozing out of the path ahead. “Damn it!” Joe said to himself “, the next opening is so far away it will take us hours to get there,” this time he said it aloud. They turned back, but the lava began to flow instead of ooze. Soon the party was forced to run, trying to find some dip in the path, then a new path opened. They entered as the lava stood on the main path.

“You guys?” a womanly voiced said in a confused tone.

“Mom!” shouted Bill. “Mom, are you alright?!?”

“I think so, I found a pokeball before I entered the cave from the water entrance to find you guys.”

Bill ardently took the pokeball and threw it. His jaws dropped. It was Charizard!

Chapter 3: The Other Side

Red thought he was done for. As he climbed up the volcano, where places of the lava did not reach yet, he found an elevated rock. He climbed. The rock would be safe for the meanwhile. Red remembered his life. He remembered the first time he received Charmander from Oak. He remembered beating Blue for the Pokemon Championship. He remembered loosing to Gold in the cave. He remembered beating Gold again to restore his reputation as the Champion. He soon lulled to sleep, looking at the sky.

The heat was against his ear. Red woke up with lava, not more then inches away from him. Red thought he was going to die, but he felt something squirming under him. Lileep came out. Red thought to himself, what if Lileep knew rock smash. “Lileep, use rock smash!” Lileep used it. The rock broke off of the lava-covered ground. Red used the rock as a makeshift boat. The rock didn’t float at all. It just slid down the mountain.

After an hour or so the rock reached the bottom, as it hit a house. Red climbed to the top of the house where he found some people staying. One man came up to him. “Have you seen my daughter?’ he asked, very desperately.

“I have not, if she was in the cave, she was probably safe,” replied Red. Then, Red noticed something wrong with the man. He didn’t have a right arm. Red saw the arm was cut off, and the man was dying. Red thought of how the arm got cut off and came to the conclusion that it probably got trapped under a rock and the man had to cut it off.

“Thank goodness, I want to live to see her one last time.”

“Have you lost a lot of blood?” asked Red.

“Yea, too much, before I stopped the flow. I need a transfusion, or else I will die.” Red pulled out his emergency phone, which usually did not get cells on Cinnabar. Red raised the phone in the air, walking around the roof. He got one bar. It was like a miracle.

Red took his finger and dialed a number to call his private helicopter. Somebody picked up. Red spoke. “Jon, I need you to come to Cinnabar, I know you are in Pallet Town, which is not far away. It must be fast.”

“Red, you’re alive!” screamed Jon.

“I know, but you have to be here in 30 minutes.”

“No problem.” Red turned around and tended to the wounded man.

“Just relax,” said Red. There was a mysterious person on that roof. Red strangely felt connected to that person. He quickly thought up a plan to get the person to come over. “You,” said Red “you, over there, I need your help.” The person was wearing a hat that hid his face. When the person came Red quickly took his hand and removed the hat.

Red nearly fell off the roof; it was his old rival. “Blue! When did you get here?”

“I had a meeting with the mayor. It was supposed to be secret.”

“Do you have your pokemon?”

“If I did, don’t you think I would of used them by now!” screamed Blue.

“Same old Blue.” Red quickly remembered the wounded man and started tending to him again. Red asked Blue a favor. “Can you just put that Lileep in this pokeball?”
“Fine.” Returned Bill. Lileep was captured. Soon, the ground began to rumble. The people got scared, but a helicopter came over the mountain. Jon arrived with a large helicopter and landed on top of the building.

Red told the man to get up, no response. Red moved the man over, nothing. Red checked the pulse, nothing. Red did CPR, screaming for the man to live, nothing happened. The man was Samantha’s father, he was dead. “Jon, take this mans body and everyone else, including me,” said Red. Red was thinking of a plan.

“Jon, you are going to drop me off at the entrance at the top of the mountain, then you will search for survivors. After that, take them to safety,” said Red, commandingly.

“Wait,” said Blue, “I am going to come with you.”

“As you wish,” said Red.“

Fine, let’s go,” said Blue. The Helicopter rose to the tope of the volcano.

“There, is that the entrance?” pointed out Jon.

“Perfect, let me just find my HM flash and teach it to Lileep,” said Red. Once they were done, the copter sent out a ladder. Blue and Red climbed down. They jumped into the darkness.

Chapter 4: Meeting

Charizard's roar echoed through the cave as the people rest on his back. Bill looked down at the lava every two seconds, checking for his other pokeballs.

"Mom, where did you find Charizard?" asked Bill.

"Somwhere in the cave, I told you," replied his mom. Samantha took out her Kanto dex and got info on Charizard. The ride seemed scary. Bill wondered where Red was...

"Give me the stupid cable!" screamed Blue.

"Chill, it is not easy to climb down a vertical wall with lava under you," returned Red.

"And what do you plan to do, when we reach the bottom!"

"Charizard."

"Did that Charizard learn to listen to you?"

"Guess so, he loves me."

"Why don't we just use the Charizard here?"

"It is to thin for Charizard to fit here." They climbed down and Charizard came out. Then they heard a roar, the roar of a Charizard.

"They are here!" screamed Red in happiness.

"Who?"

"Bill and Joe."

“Are those the guys you are looking for?” When he was done another Charizard came into sight.

“STOP!” screamed Red “, Charizard can’t fit up here, we don’t have enough cables to climb up all of you. Looks like we have to do this manually. .” And so the strenuous climb began. Joe made it up first, carrying Bill and Samantha on his back. Bill’s mom made it up second. Red, Blue, George and Hans had trouble. George put his hand on an unsteady rock, which fell. George fell down landing on top of Hans. Hans fell, but broke George’s fall so he could maintain a grip. George stuck out his hand which caught Hans’.

“Don’t let go!” screamed George.

Hans replied simply, “I am just holding you back, you have to escape!” At that moment he let go, falling into the lava below.

“NOOOO!” Samantha cried. She jumped down, stupidly, but Bill caught her.

“Samantha, there is nothing you can do, he’s gone,” said Bill. George screamed on the inside, but continued, sobbing silently. Blue was having trouble himself. His finger broke when he chose a bad place to put his hand. Red carried Blue on his back and Joe took them up with his enormous strength. George came up five minutes later.

They exited the cave, finding that most of the lava flowed into the water. That revealed all the burnt bodies. Jon came down. He had found ten people waiting on roofs. Red came up to Jon and spoke to him.

“Why isn’t there more people?” asked Red.

“These survivor guys say that they basically killed each other over small things,” replied Jon.

“Well, we gotta find the bodies and find lost pokemon, or even dead ones.”

“Should I drop off these guys at Pallet Town?”

“No, put them on a ferry, we need to have your helicopter, and we have to go back in the mountain. Who knows how many people died in there.”

“Sure, and what about these kids?”

“I want them to stay with me.”

“Sure thing, and what about Blue, this lady, and this guy.”

“Depends on what they want, anyways see you later, the adventure has just began…
