Best Tank for my Team?
I'm currently trying to build a team around Gengar. With so much more Pokemon bult for defense, I want to know which Pokemon would serve best as a tank and such.
I saw Spiritomb and was like "Wow! 108 base defenses and No weaknesses!" The only thing is, it's base HP is 50, which sucks. It still has two immunities to Psychic and Fighting types.
I always used Umbreon as a tank/annoyer, because all his defensive stats were better than Spiritomb's. There's always the problem with fightning types, since Cross Chop is out there
Which one should I choose? Or is there an alternate?

Re: Best Tank for my Team?
That depends if the Special Sweeper moveset will make a comeback or if the McGar will stay around for a little longer. If the special sweeper set comes back though, Psychic might be replaced with Shadow Ball because of its 120 STAB power. So...the decision is still going for me.

You could always go with Blissey or Snorlax

Um, Umbreon is immune to Psychic.

I've always like Special Gars. Shadow Ball/Hidden Power [Ice]/Thunder Bolt/ Will-o-Wisp will be my favorite Gar set in D/P. I like Spritomb>Umbreon, but Skarmory, is another option as a Physical wall, or Vaporeon my also work.

That could work, but both are weak to fighting attacks. Personally I would use snorlax

Re: Best Tank for my Team?
I'm looking for a Pokemon that can be good at walling both Physical and Special attacks, though. I WILL have Standard/Sub Skarmory on my team as a Spiker, and several other roles (Toxic+Whirlwind).

Well, Spiritomb walls both. So Do Suicune, and Vaporeon, though VAporeon is mainly good for passing Huge subs and Wish, and Acid Armors.

If you're really worried about HP, why not use Leftovers?

Doesn't leftovers heal proportional to the max HP? Something like 1/16? It wouldnt be that great on spiritomb then.
I would recommend pain split on spiritomb. A question though: If you use pain split against a high hp pokemon, would that mean spiritomb's hp would be at let's say 150%, whereas the opponent's pokemon will be at 55%?

He meant that you could use Psychic to sweep fighting types, which Umbreon can die to.
