Default D/P Charizard

I am thinking up moveset for my charizard that I will import (as a charmander) for D/P and kind of debating what kind of charizard I want. A phyical or specail charizard. At the moment I am drawing up blanks though. The only moveset I can think of is this one:

Subsitute
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
Flamethower

Set up the sub. Set up Sunny Day. Sub takes hits while setting up Sunny Day. Take advantage of Sunny Day by using Solar or Flamethower. Simple?

Still I feel the set doesn't does justice to the charizard since he learns so many more moves that can make him better. This one takes advantage of his speacail attack but fails in the idea that there is too much set up and the chance that the sub may be gone in one turn leaving him defenseless. What do you guys think? Is this moveset ok or are there better ones for charizard?

Well, if you want a moveset like that. Then make sure your Charizard is timid nature.

I have some ideas for Zard.

Physical Zard:

Charizard@ Leftovers
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 124 HP/ 252 Atk/132 Spd
Adamant Nature

- Dragon Dance/Swords Dance/Belly Drum
- Fire Fang/Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide/Shadow Claw/Dragon Claw/Crunch/Aerial Ace/Brick Break/Roost

The first set of moves, are your choice of power up moves. Fire Fang is nice STAB move with Burn, and Flinch chance, but Flare blitz has more power, but it has recoil. Earthquake hits Rock, and Electric mons, and is a nice over all good move. The last spot can be another powerful Physical move. Roost can also be used, to heal HP after Belly Drumming.

Special Zard:

Charizard@ Leftovers
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Spd/ 252 SAtk
Modest Nature

- Flamethrower
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Grass/Roost

Flamethrower, and Air Slash are both powerful, and Air Slash gets a chance for a Flinch. Dragon Pulse is another powerful special move. HP grass hits hits Rocks, and Waters, and Roost can heal some HP.

I have a couple more, but I cant remember them right now.

With both sets you should have a Fire and Dragon move as it covers every Pokemon and have the last moves as Stat boosting, STAB or moves that hit more damage on People that worry Zard.

Charizard sucks in D/P with Stealth Rock weak and being hideously outclassed by Infernape as crazy high-risk sweeper. Now that TTar gets 354 special defense by virtue of being a rock type that summons Sandstorm, you definitely have to figure that there's no way you're going to pull off a Belly Drum ever. Flare Blitz doesn't help him since he loses 50% just by switching in and he's a hideously crappy lead.

~ Fire Blast
~ Focus Punch
~ Dragon Pulse
~ Hidden Power Grass
@ Life Orb

Air Slash is an awesome move but doesn't help his type coverage at all. Pick an attack and hope it KOs or severely injures whatever comes in. You're powerless against Milotic and Suicune. Blissey is put into a very awkward position if it eats a Focus Punch. Life Orb because he's not going to live through anything anyways. Maybe Choice Specs could work.

Ignoring the circumstances in which this point was raised, it cannot be denied that I do in fact have supernatural powers and am jesus (lower case "J" please I'm not an egotist but I don't need you silly little people mispelling my name).

Another risk is if someone uses a two-hit move that destrys the sub and then hits you, it could really hurt your strategy

Rock types in sandstream get x1.5 boost to special defense.

So TTar, who has 236 special defense with 0 EVs, gets 236 x 1.5 for a special defense minimum of 354.

That's just DP right, and in Sandstorm not Sandstream, that's GREAT! But you did assume that T-Tar has 31 IV.

No way! Choose physical or Special, Zard can't do both.
