Re: Special Fire Type
The only two good fires are Blaziken and Moltres and neither are particularly oustanding.

Ignoring the circumstances in which this point was raised, it cannot be denied that I do in fact have supernatural powers and am jesus (lower case "J" please I'm not an egotist but I don't need you silly little people mispelling my name).

Basically what she said. Fire-Types are pretty crappy because they have a weakness to 3 very common types: rock, ground, and water as well as usually having movepools which you can't do anything with.
That being said, if you want a good Sp.Attacking Fire-Type either go with Moltres (though the x4 weakness to Rock doesn't help) or Houndoom.

Re: Special Fire Type
For Moltres, you might want to use:
- Morning Sun/Agility/Roar
- Hidden Power [Grass]/Toxic
- Sunny Day
- Flamethrower
Morning sun+Sunny day=tons of HP gain, but you need to get the Moltres from XD for that. If you cant get HP GRass, go with Toxic, and Roar, but if you can get HP Grass, and not Morning sun give it Agility.
Or, for Doom:
- Crunch
- Flamethrower
- Pursuit
- Hidden Power [Grass]/Substitute/Will-o-wisp
Crunch and FT gain STAB, and Pursuit can hit mons on the switch. If you cant get HP Grass, and dont want to Breed for Wow, Sub is a nice option.

Re: Special Fire Type
I;m probably going to do Houndoom, easier to get a good nature on it and I'll just use Smeargle for breeding, Sub or WoW. I remember getting seriously pissed off by that Houndoom on NB.

Re: Special Fire Type
you can't breed tutored moves like sub unless it's an egg move.

Re: Special Fire Type
I thought it was an egg move, damn. And as for EQ, that's why Houndoom is so much better at 6 on 6 battles, a lot more Pokemon to switch into EQ.
