Charlie thinks to herself.
Charlie: "Well, I may just be getting paranoid, but maybe they are watching us? Should I wave my arms in the air signaling distress to see if they send someone out here? Maybe we could get help from some nitwit they may send. Unless someone happens to have military-grade explosives in their back pocket, it may not be possible to get through there."
Charlie thinks a little more.
Charlie: "I wonder if that other path back up the stairs led somewhere..."
